You stood in the middle of what could be considered a war zone. The men were only here for for a few minutes, and yet the damage they caused was astounding. Who- what were those people? Where's Kaneki?? What about Touka and the other man, are they dead? You were too scared to check.
"I should..call the police," you whispered to yourself. Just as you pulled out your phone, you felt a hand grab your ankle. You jumped away shrieking.
"Please don't do that," a weak voice groaned.
You looked down to see Touka, a weak smile on her face.
You grabbed her arm and helped support her as she stood up "You're alive! W-what about him..?" You asked, glancing at the other man.
"He'll be fine.." She paused and looked around. Seeing the decimated shop decimated made her heart drop. You could tell just by the look in her eye.
You two stood there in silence. You had so many questions, but didn't know how to ask them. Did they really get attacked by ghouls? Who were they? Why did they come here? The young boy reminded you of Touka, were they related? Is Touka a ghoul..?
"(L/n)-chan.." You looked looked at the purple haired girl. "Are you alright?"
You only nodded. Touka sighed and started walking towards the back of the shop. She paused by the stairwell, before turning around facing you.
"Come with me upstairs, we need to talk.."
---Time Skip---
You helped Touka tend to her wounds, which seemed to be healing faster than normal. Once you finished, you sat on the opposite side of her bed while she leaned against her wall.
"(L/n), what did you see earlier?" Her voice was stern, and her visible eye pierced through you. It's amazing how even when she's injured, she still looks intimidating.
You flinched under her gaze and looked down, trying to remember what you saw.
"I saw 3 men, the large one was beating Kaneki, and I thought I saw the boy who reminds me of you saw me but I wasn't sure, I also saw shattered bits of kagune..." You figited with your sleeve.
"Touka-chan, was Kaneki taken by ghouls?"
Touka just stared at you for a long moment before glancing out the window.
"..Yes, he was."
Your heart dropped.
"(L/n), I want you to go home immediately. This is something you shouldn't get involved in, although I think you may have already been dragged into it"
You looked at her confused, "W-what do you mean?"
Touka shook her head. "Things are going to get ugly really soon, you shouldn't be here when it happens. Please go home, lock your doors and be safe." She got up and winced, but continued to walk towards her door.
"What about you? You're hurt!"
She opened the door and looked back at you. "I'll be fine, don't worry about me."
You walked out the room and paused before looking back at her.
"What about Kaneki..?" Your voice was barely above a whisper.
Touka looked at you with a sad expression. "We'll get him back, he'll come back, but for now there's nothing we can do. Place take care of yourself (L/n), and be careful."
She shut the door and you took in a shaky breath before running out the shop, tears streaming down your face.
'Kaneki...'
