IF YOU WERE TO ASK CHUN AE-RA about love, she would dismiss it as an unnecessary distraction. Despite her deep care for family and close friends, Ae-ra sees romance as an inconvenience, something that only complicates life's goals. "Romance is like a bug that doesn't leave until you squash it," she often says, convinced that love has no place in her ambitious plans. Growing up with this mindset, she saw no reason to change—until a move from her hometown of London to South Korea shakes up her world.
Adjusting to life in Seoul brings unexpected challenges. Ae-ra quickly notices the way people stare at her, the foreign newcomer, and couples fill the streets, exchanging smiles and glances that make her feel even more distant from the idea of romance. When she enrolls at Jooshin High School, she expects another round of adjustments but nothing beyond what she's used to handling.
That is, until she crosses paths with Kim Ri-an. As the heir to Jooshin Group, Ri-an is already the center of attention at school, his life shaped by privilege, status, and expectations. But when he meets Ae-ra, their worlds collide in ways that neither expects. Ri-an's casual curiosity toward her mysterious background and calm, detached demeanor intrigue Ae-ra, though she's determined not to be distracted. However, as their interactions grow, she finds her long-held beliefs about love beginning to waver.
Ae-ra's life at Jooshin High quickly becomes far more complicated than she anticipated. Kim Ri-an, with his effortless charm and the expectations tied to his name, has a way of drawing her into situations she never intended. Slowly but surely, her opinions about romance and relationships begin to shift, leaving her to question if love might be more than just a hindrance to her ambitions.
