You stared at Ron in disbelief. "You betted on this?"
"Well, not at first... but Ginny is very persuasive!" He tried to explain, feeling a bit defensive. It wasn’t his fault that Ginny always seemed to have a way of getting people to do things they’d never normally consider.
"Unbelievable, really, Ronald Weasley," you said, shaking your head in mock disappointment.
Ron crossed his arms over his chest and let out a sigh, clearly unimpressed with both his sister's antics and the situation in general. "So, Oliver Wood just... confessed to you like that? And you didn’t say anything back?"
"Well, no... I didn’t exactly not say anything, I just didn’t know what to say. He made it clear that I didn’t have to answer right away," you explained, trying to make sense of the confusing exchange. Honestly, you weren’t sure how you felt about it yourself. You’d always thought of Oliver as a friend—great guy, amazing captain, but nothing more!
"Merlin’s beard," Ron muttered. "I bet Ginny’s been cackling about this, hasn’t she?"
"Not exactly, I havent mentioned it to her yet. But considering the wager you both placed, she will be soon."
Just then, the door to your room swung open, and in marched Fred and George.
Fred scanned the room. "What’s going on here, looks like someone’s in trouble."
George raised an eyebrow. "Careful, Fred. Looks like Y/n’s having a bit of a dilemma." He joked.
"Really?" Fred grinned. "Do tell us more! We’re all ears."
"I don't know, it's quite a bit private." You said.
"You can trust us, really." George said.
You exchanged a look with Ron, he shrugged.
"I was confessed to." You said slowly, a bit embarrassed by the situation.
Fred's expression immediately changed, the grin on his face turned into confusion.
"By whom?" George asked quickly.
"The captain of the quiddich team! Oliver Wood has confessed his undying love for you." Ginny said loudly as she entered the room.
You groaned, slumping in your seat. You covered your face in embarrassment.
"Ginny, really?"
But Ginny, completely unfazed, marched in with a grin plastered on her face. "What? It’s true! Wood’s got it bad for you, Y/n. And Ron owes me $20." She smirked and Ron groaned.
Fred and George exchanged a knowing glance.
"..do you like Wood?" Fred asked.
You removed your hands from your face starring at the boy in front of you.
"I don't. Not like that at least. I mean, he's a good guy and friend but I don't fancy him." You explained.
"Too bad really. The both of you would be a lovely couple, and dating Oliver would give you plenty of advantages." Ginny said.
"Merlin’s beard, Ginny," Ron muttered, reaching into his pocket to pull out his wallet.
"What?" She asked confused and defensively.
As their bickering continued, you couldn’t help but notice the quiet shift in Fred and George. They hadn’t spoken much since Ginny had barged in, but you could feel the tension hanging in the air.
Fred’s gaze lingered on you for a moment longer than usual, his lips pressed into a thin line as if he was contemplating something, but he didn’t say anything. George, on the other hand, seemed to be distracted, his eyes flicking between you and his twin with an unreadable expression. You tried not to overthink it, but it was hard not to. The whole situation was becoming… uncomfortable.
Finally, George broke the silence, his tone light and casual, but there was something underneath it that caught your attention. "Well, if you’re not into Wood, I suppose that just means there’s more room for us, huh love?" he said quietly enough for only you and Fred to hear.
You blinked, unsure if he was being serious or just joking.
"I think what George means," Fred said quickly, his voice smooth but a little too calm, "is that you don’t have to settle for anyone you’re not interested in. You dont have to feel pressured y/n."
"Exactly," George agreed, his tone shifting back to its usual playful quality. "You’ve got plenty of time to figure it out, darling. No need to rush into anything."
You nodded, feeling a strange warmth settle in your chest. It was odd how they were able to make your heart race a million beats per second and calm you all in a couple of sentences.
"Thanks, guys," you said, trying to steer the conversation back to safer ground. "But maybe it's time to move on from this topic."
"Fair enough," George said with a soft smile.
"Right, well," you said, standing up and glancing around at the group. "I think I’m going to go for a walk. Clear my head."
"Have fun!" Ginny said flopping in your spot as you grabbed Noodle from his cage.
You quickly made your way down the stairs grabbing Noodles leash from the coat hanger. You placed it on the ferret and put on your slippers as you were just in your socks.
As you stepped outside, the summer air hit your face, cool and refreshing. But even as you breathed it in, you couldn’t escape the feeling that things felt weird.
You had to admit, you wanted George's previous words to be underlined with some truth. It took a while, but you were about 98% sure you had a crush on both of them. Fred and George. George and Fred.
You weren't sure what you were supposed to be feeling at the moment. You'd figured out your feelings, so... happy? But, what now? Okay, yeah you're confused.
"Merlin, help me!" You said to yourself.

When you came in about 15 minutes later, you felt a lot better. You'd officially banned Ginny from any more teasing about the situation and she surprisingly agreed easily.
The rest of the day you really just kept to yourself. You weren't mad or upset, just needed some alone time. You cleaned up your room that had started becoming a bit messy. And after made yourself a cup of herbal tea. You also read a couple of chapters from book Arthur recommended.
Before you knew it though, the day had passed and the starts began sprinkling over the incoming night sky.
The only thoughts that lingered in your mind as you began to snooze was the Amortentia potion you'd be making tomorrow.
