A week of Goodbyes.

It didn’t all happen in one day.

In fact, the week leading up to your departure passed in a sort of lazy, golden haze—like the sun couldn’t bear to set too quickly on your time at the Burrow.

Each day brought a new memory, a new moment, some louder than others, but all of them leaving an impression like footprints in the soft soil of your summer.

-Chocolate Frogs-

Ron had a couple of interesting hobbies, some that most people wouldn't expect. One of those included number puzzles. Specifically Sudoku.

It was fun to play with him, you usually tried it out on your father's morning paper. One day, Ron observed you asking Mr. Weasley for his morning paper to find the puzzle you loved playing so much. Ever so curious, Ron observed you slowly put the numbers in their spots, erasing, and then rewriting.

After asking what exactly you were doing, you introduced him to the world of brain puzzles. It became a shared hobby between the two of you.

Now, here you were, you finished your puzzle a couple of minutes ago and Ron has been stuck on the same box for the last 5 minutes.

"Oh!" You said.

Ron knew that reaction, "Well don't just stay quiet. Tell me which one!"

"What? I'm not gonna tell you. That's basically cheating."

"It's not cheating, it's..it's suggesting."

"Same thing."

"Not really."

"Ronald, it's easy! Just focus. Look at it." You said, redirecting back to the paper in front of him.

He squinted, trying his best to see what you had saw.

"Y/n please!"

"Bloody hell! The answer is obvious!"

"I can't do it y/n. You've gotta give me a hint."

You sighed, "Fine. Its a number between 1 and 9." You said with a smirk.

He narrowed his eyes. “I’ll remember this when you need someone to smuggle chocolate frogs during the school year.”

You shrugged. “Joke’s on you. George already promised me two boxes and a signed guarantee of silence.”

George, walking by with a smug grin, raised a brow. “Don’t drag me into your shady snack politics.”

Ron groaned. “This is betrayal. From my own house. From my own best friend.

“Please, I’m immune to your Weasley guilt,” you said crossing your arms.

“Immunity revoked,” he muttered.

-Or I'll Hex You-

You found Ginny near the garden, alone, throwing a Quaffle into the air and catching it with precise, practiced hands.

She didn’t say much when you sat beside her. For a while, the two of you just passed the Quaffle back and forth. The wind tugged gently at her hair, and yours, and you felt that familiar sting behind your eyes when you realized how much you’d miss this. Her. All of it.

Eventually, Ginny broke the silence.

“They’re both ridiculous about you, you know.”

You blinked. “What?”
