"Y/n, dear, you're taking the train home?" Molly asked, spoon in hand as she stirred the pot at the dining table.

You, Ron, and Mrs. Weasley were all busy preparing lunch together, the warmth of the kitchen contrasting with the chilly air outside. It was strange to have a cooler day during the summer, almost like the weather itself was unsure.

"Yes, that's right!" you replied with a smile, dicing vegetables to add to the stew.

"You're going home on the train? Why not through the Floo or by car?" Ron asked, peeling another potato. He'd already peeled three, but it seemed he had no intention of stopping.

"Well, my parents won't be back until about a month into the semester," you explained with a little shrug. "My aunt on my dad's side offered to look after me and take me to 'boarding school' when the semester starts." You air-quoted "boarding school," because your aunt didn't know about Hogwarts.

Ron raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile tugging at his lips. "Ah, the Muggle side."

You laughed, shaking your head. "Exactly."

"But why not just stay with us?" Ron pressed, his voice taking on a slight whine. "We could've gotten ready for school together. You know, cloaks and quills."

You grinned at the thought. "As much as I would love that, I have to gather plenty of stuff from home too. You know, like clothing and whatnot."

Molly, who had been listening quietly, smiled fondly. "Well, besides all that, we'll miss you, Y/n. It won't be quite the same around here without you. It'll leave a bit of a dent, for sure."

You gave her a smile. "I'll miss you all too. I have a feeling my home will be much too quiet for me."

Molly let out a soft sigh. She knew all too well that the Weasley household would feel a little emptier without you, just as it would when the rest of the kids went off to school.

"Well, before you head off, we need to get you a train ticket," Molly said, standing up from the table. "I'll send Arthur into town to buy one for you."

"Could we go with Dad, Mum?" Ron asked quickly.

Molly chuckled, nodding. "Sure, I don't see why not."

"Have you ever been to the small town nearby?" Ron asked, turning to you as you finished adding the final touches to the meal.

You smiled, recalling your brief visit with your mum. "I've been once or twice. We stopped at a shop, but there wasn't much else to see."

Molly chimed in, her eyes bright. "Oh, it's a lovely little town, full of nice people. Not much to do, but very quaint."

Ron grinned, nudging you lightly with his elbow. "And hey, it's an adventure, right? Fresh air, a bit of shopping."

You laughed. "Yeah, sounds fun. I'm in!"

"Alright, everyone ready?" Arthur called as he stood by the car, his wide smile evident as he looked back at the group.

You, Ron, Fred, and George had all decided to join him on the trip, though each of you had different reasons for going. For Arthur, it was a chance to immerse himself in Muggle life, to enjoy the novelty of ordinary things-not only for his own pleasure but also for work. For Fred and George, it was always a bit of an adventure, fueled by their mischievous spirits. And for you and Ron, it was a quick trip to grab a few things, maybe some snacks, and soak in the atmosphere.

The drive was filled with easy chatter and laughter. Arthur regaled the group with stories of when he'd taken the boys into town years ago, how they'd reacted to Muggle things with such awe and wonder.
