I was having dinner with Pond and filling him in on the new drama with P Force. He laughed as he realized P Force had essentially agreed to a show just for me.
"That's really kind of P Force. To agree to do it for you."
"Right? I also think so. Plus, he wasn't even that interested in the script at first. But it's always easier when there is someone who is familiar."
Pond nodded, but he also firmly reiterated that I would do well regardless. I nodded, though I wasn't half as sure. I wasn't the most confident, and Pond knew that, always being by my side and reassuring me.
On the outside, it looked like I was the confident one and Pond otherwise, but in reality, the roles were actually reversed. So I was very thankful for Pond in my life as he really was my biggest cheerleader.
Once we were done, we were waiting for an Uber when Pond's manager called him back to the studio for a last-minute urgent meeting. Initially, Pond and I were going to share an Uber back, but he looked at me stricken. I convinced him to go on and that I would be ok. I told him to head on, and he scurried off.
I was trying to book an Uber when a car drove up and honked at me. I looked up to realize it was P Force grinning away at me.
"P! What are you doing here? Thought you had to pick up Book?"
He beckoned me into the car as it couldn't wait for long there. I quickly got into the car. I was buckling up as P Force told me that Book was running late and had said he would make his own way home. He had gone to buy dinner and was about to head home when he saw me waiting.
"Where's Pond?" Thought you are with him?"
I filled him in, and he nodded his head.
"I will send you back home then. Cancel the Uber if you have gotten it. Don't waste the money."
"It's ok na P.."
Force looked at me and rolled his eyes. I laughed as I cancelled the Uber and gave P Force my address. He keyed it into the system, and we set off. We chatted about work and other things on the way home. It was a short but comfortable journey with laughs constantly punctuating it.
Once I got to my place, I got down and looked at P Force.
"Get home safe na, P Force. Thank you for the ride."
P Force nodded and drove off. I stood there for a bit as I watched his car go off.
I turned and went back to my apartment, whistling away. Once I got in, I showered, changed, and sat down to clear emails when I saw my latest one from my manager on a workshop for the upcoming drama series on Saturday. It was going to be a full day one and we would be meeting the other co stars and doing a test run of our characters just to gauge the chemistry plus the director wanted to meet us in person too.
I confirmed my attendance for the workshop and then texted P Force on it when his reply flitted in about 1 hour later.
"Hey, Phuwin. Actually, I don't think I will be doing the series after all."
"Oh, why P?"
I saw that P Force had read my message, but he didn't reply at all. In fact, he didn't reply for the rest of the night.
