Ekko always hated the concept of dying. He hated Death with a passion, he thought Death was cruel, cold, unfair.
He never thought how much his love could change Death.
It was all true, Death was unfair and cruel. Who would've thought she would change for just one boy?
Just one boy was able to make her show her face again. Just one boy was able to make her let go of the hood. Just one boy was enough to make her humanity come up to the surface.
Just one boy was enough to make Death herself play with fate.
And one night, when he decided to question Death, their fates sealed.
They were meant to meet, they were meant to fall in love, they were meant to lose and they were meant to win.
Death was always meant to fall in love with a normal boy, who took life very seriously. And from cold Death, he was able to turn her into the loved leader that everyone now knows as Y/n.
Death was never supposed to choose sides, and yet Y/n fought on his side and loved him more than anything. The curse she always hated, became something that she was thankful for. Since if she never became Death, then she would've never met Ekko.
Death changed for one boy, because she fell in love.
And Ekko fell in love with Y/n, the true Y/n, that only he was able to see and make her be herself.
He might've hated Death, but he never hated Y/n. He might've made peace with Death, but he fell in love with Y/n.
And he turned a young girl, who was afraid of even herself, into the Heart of Zaun, a leader that went down the history as the ruler who turned Zaun from trash into a beautiful and peaceful city.
What would Death do for just a boy? Nothing.
But what would Y/n do for Ekko? Anything, even if she lost herself in the process.
Because whenever Y/n lost herself, Ekko made sure he found her.
And now they were where they were meant to be. Death and Life. Y/n and Ekko.
Side by side, loving each other more than anything.
Because it was always their fate to cross paths. They were always fated to fall in love.
In every universe, Death loves Ekko. In every universe, Y/n fell in love with Ekko. But in this universe, Ekko fell in love with her too.
Even Death has a Heart, and her heart belongs to Ekko, it always did.
