"Actually, the meanings are completely different."
"No one likes a smart ass."
"If we're talking about ass, Uraraka's—"
...
"We're gonna start off with simple 1 v 1 battles," Mr. Aizawa announced to the merged class of 1-A and the temporary exchange students. "Myself, your teacher, and the staff here have attempted to make the battles as even as possible. We even reviewed footage of the American Sport Festival to gauge personality, intelligence, and strength. To put it plainly, we ranked you. Your opponent is the person we think is closest to you in terms of skill."
The students began to mumble among themselves.
"We're already fighting?"
"I didn't eat breakfast."
"There's no way she got her tiddies out like that!"
"Who's gonna fight me?"
"Good luck, Tsuki—"
"Please, students," Ms. Wanda, the American teacher, yelled. "Please keep the talking for after your matches."
The students quieted.
"And now for your opponents," Ms. Wanda continued. "Since Tsuki won our sports festival, it seemed reasonable for Bakugo—the winner of UA—to be her opponent."
Bakugo's ear twitched. "Tsuki? " He straightened his shoulders and stepped forward. Turning to face the crowd, he noticed a long, brown-haired girl tying her hair back. She smiled as she walked up to him.
"Tch," he clicked his tongue. "She barely looks 100 pounds."
"Hi, I don't remember meeting you last night," she began, bowing her head. "My name is Tsuki, it's—"
"I don't care," he interrupted. "Let's get this over with."
A few whispers rippled through the students.
"Bakugo," Mr. Aizawa warned.
"Whaaat?" he cried, throwing his head back. "They're acting like that crap even matters."
"It's fine," the girl said with a smile. "We can head over to the ring."
"Myself, Ms. Wanda, and your fellow classmates will be watching from the audience room—G4. After your fight, go to Recovery Girl and recoup with us to watch the rest of the matches."
By the time Mr. Aizawa finished speaking, Bakugo was already halfway to the ring.
Tsuki nodded. "Yes, sir." She followed after Bakugo at a calm pace. "He reminds me of middle school me—so angry," she thought, watching his back as he walked.
"Could you walk any slower?" Bakugo whined, looking over his shoulder. "You've got kneecaps... so USE them."
"So crude," Tsuki thought with a laugh. "Sorry, sorry." She cracked her neck. "Do you wanna count down, or—"
"DIIIIIIEEEEEEeeee!" His voice echoed so loudly that it made her eardrums ring. In two seconds, he was right in front of her. His glowing palms grazed the bridge of her nose as he let off an explosion. The rocks from the now-cracked pavement crunched under his shoes as he landed with a backflip away from the blast. "Well... that was boring." Bakugo turned around, dusting off his hands as if he had just taken out the trash. His eyes narrowed and he froze. "What the crap?!" he yelled as he jumped backward.
"How did you do that?" the girl asked, tilting her head. Bakugo ignored her and glanced over his shoulder at the gunpowder marks on the floor.
"I hit her. Did she take a hit? I felt her face. I hit her... so how the hell was she standing right in front of me? " He clenched his teeth, and the crease between his brows deepened. "You—you're—" he stammered. "You damn—" Suddenly, he exploded forward toward her. "BURST SPEED TURBOOOOOooooo!" He shouted as he let off another explosion, cursing under his breath, unable to see her through the smoke. When the smoke cleared, he frantically looked around. "She's fast.. "
"Is it like Endeavor's fire?" she asked. "Or is there a specific way to trigger your—"
"SHUT UP!" he yelled.
She appeared in front of him with a smile. Bakugo pulled the trigger on his grenade gauntlet; the explosion was so loud it hurt his ears. He smirked, knowing that must have caught her off guard. He landed on his feet and squinted through the smoke when suddenly a painful punch made his teeth clatter. He flew backward, landing squarely on his ass. With a grunt, he spat blood.
"You're wasting your potential," she stated coldly.
The pupils in Bakugo's eyes shrank. "WHAT THE HELL... DID YOU SAEYUH?" he shouted. He jumped up, but the lingering effect of Tsuki's punch made him stumble backward. "I—I'LL KILL YOU!"
"Kill me?" Tsuki laughed. "You haven't even touched me."
Bakugo's veins pulsed. "You shut your mouf—damn you—" he cut off stumbling with his eyes beginning to roll back.
"You're right," Tsuki said as Bakugo fell onto his back. "This was boring."
