"Ugh, where am I..?" Y/N groaned, eyes fluttered open and looked around the unfamiliar room with confusion.

She slowly sat upright on the bed and massaged her temple. Head throbbing, she winced at the pain.

She took a moment to look around and saw that she was in someone's bedroom. The walls were painted soft pink, with white stars decorating the ceiling. The bed, blanket, and sheets were covered in pink floral patterns, matching the pink theme of the bedroom. Everything screamed girly, almost childish. There was even a dollhouse in one of the corners of the room.

She tried very hard to remember the last thing she did that would cause her to end up in a place like this.

When suddenly, she finally remembered. Her fingers stopped massaging her temple as the realisation hit her like a truck. Her eyes widened, and her heart tightened in her chest. She had died. Y/N. Y/L/N. Had. Died.

At least that's what she remembered about the last thing that happened before she woke up in this room. She remembered losing the life in her eyes and suffered a painful death.

However, if she had truly died, then why was she still breathing? Why is she in a lovely little girl's room? Was this all a dream, a glimpse of death? Didn't she die? Is she dead? What the bloody hell was going on?

All these questions made Y/N stressed, and her breath became ragged with panic.

A mirror stand suddenly drew her attention, prompting her to leap out of bed and walk over to examine herself.

And just as she suspected, she saw it was her in the reflection. But what was this? She looked slightly different... She was much shorter and much— younger?

She stared at the person in the mirror incredulously, like a deer mesmerised by the car's headlights. It was certainly her, but it was not. It was a younger version of her.

Has she time-travelled to the past? No, it can't be because this wasn't her bedroom.
If she did, she would find herself in her childhood bedroom, which was nothing like this. Yet, how was it that she appeared so youthful and unscathed? Had she genuinely travelled through time?

Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a knock on the bedroom door.

Before she could even say anything in reply, the door creaked open on its own, and Y/N saw something that made her eyes widen so widely in her eye socket that it almost popped out of its place.

Standing by the door was a scrawny little elf with a pointy nose, floppy ears, and standing slightly shorter than Y/N.

"Supper is ready." He announced, a bit nervously.

Y/N was speechless. Was she hallucinating, or right before her very eyes stood an elf? But more specifically, a house-elf from Harry Potter?

"Are you real...?" She muttered incredulously, but more to herself, which made the elf furrow his brow in confusion.

"W-what do you mean is Boot real? Of course, Boot is real..." He said shakily as if heartbroken.

Y/N gasped as she realised something. But she wasn't entirely sure yet. She didn't want to assume too quickly and narrowed her eyes at the creature. "Can you do a magic trick?" She asked, dripping with anticipation.

"O-of course..." He replied confusedly before demonstrating it by making an object float.

Y/N's eyes sparkled with excitement after witnessing real magic, confirming her suspicion, and finally sure of it. Somehow, by an unknown force, she had been reincarnated into the world of Harry Potter!
