You waited until it was dark, it was an eerie wind creeping into the night, the moon peeking a bit behind the smog-mist, some green neon signs illuminating the place and giving the dull place a little colour.

You grabbed your cloak and wore it. You of course took the most important thing with you as well, the black sack. You pulled the hood over your head so no one would recognize your face. And just like that you left the place.

You slowly walked across the streets of Zaun, the vials in your bag making a little clinking sound every time you took a step.

The bag was heavy, the weight started to hurt your shoulder, but it didn't matter, because it'll all be worth it.

AFter a lot of walking, you stopped, it was a place where a lot of sick people were, don't get me wrong, you would find a hopeless sick person around the corner in Zaun. But here it was swarming with them, all hoping for a miracle to save them, or maybe a vial of shimmer.

But you weren't there to offer some crack to these people, you were here to heal them in a healthy way.

You lay your eyes on a woman with a little girl, awh man, this was really playing with your heart strings. You decided to walk up to them.

"Hello.."

You said awkwardly as the woman and her child acknowledged you.

"Please..please spare us─"

"Don't worry, I'm here to help" You answered softly.

"Oh? "How so?"

The woman gave a look of confusion, which was..understandable, You didn't really look like you would offer shimmer.

"Let me see you daughter"

"Why."

the woman shielded her daughter protectively.

"I just want to help, but i can't do it if you don't show me your daughter"

The woman hesitated but eventually showed her daughter, she looked like a zombie, she was all pale, didn't have much meat and she was twitching a little bit.

Poor girl..you thought, this was so sad to see.

You sighed with empathy and opened your bag, you felt determined to help this little girl. You took out the strange vial and since it was technically in your bag, you gave her some tea, although it was cold, and maybe not good anymore.

You hesitated if this plan would work, but you'll never know if you don't try it out.

The liquid in the vials that you took out the bag was sage green, nice, it looked like poison.

"just take one sip. ."

"hm"

the girl nodded and did as she was told. You nervously awaited of what was going to happen

. . .

Oh crap, cold sweat started to run down your cheek, nothing happened..

Until

.

.

.

The girl stopped twitching and actually started to look better.

"Phew"

you let out softly, you couldn't imagine what could've happened if it didn't work.

"It's a miracle!" Oh you were a gift from the Gods!"

The woman exclaimed happily, she was delighted to see her daughter all healed up.

"How can we ever repay you?"

"Oh no need, good deeds are always for free..make sure to feed your daughter, she needs good nutrients to maintain the vaccine in her body."

The woman looked at you with tears in her eyes, it touched you, you needed to hold back your own tears because of it.

"I feel bad for letting you do this for free..do you have a place where you can stay? if not, my daughter and I can let you stay at our place. We have an extra room"

The idea certainly intrigued you but you couldn't, you had to decline the offer.

"No sorry, my place has grown onto me, thank you for offering it tho"

The woman was a bit disappointed but could force you to stay with her either.

"Well I wish you a good day, Girl savior!"

Girl savior? It had a nice ring to it. You chuckled lightly and waved the mother and her kid goodbye. You're a hero,

not all heroes wear a flashy outfit or a cape.

. . .

The next day you woke up, finally the cycle of your life is different now. You smiled proudly of what you did the other night.

"Hm, I promised myself not to.."

You sighed and before you knew it, you were in the last drop, ordering whiskey again.

"Here ya go, missy. I thought ya didn't like ma booze?"

The bartender raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah I thought that too.."

"You're a strange one you know?"

The bartender slid the glass with whiskey to you.

"Also stop with the missy and little lady, my name is [Reader]"

You muttered, slightly annoyed.

"Oh? well since you were so kind to ask, mine is Ermit"

"I never asked"

You said bluntly.

"Whatever"

Ermit shot you a glare and went back to work.

You took a swig of your glass, looking aimlessly around the bar,

until a conversation behind you piqued your interest.

You moved your chair slightly closer to hear what they were saying.

"Yeah apparently there is that 'Girl savior' on the west side of Zaun, who said something about helping people without shimmer?"

"Pfft whatever, don't believe everything you hear man, it's probably fake news"

Oh fake news? I'll prove you it's real, you thought to yourself.

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────

That night you went off to that place again, but now helping more than 1 person, one by one they were healing. AFter some time, people started to offer you money to be healed.

It'd be wrong to accept it right?
