[Always the savior, never the saved] READERXEKKO

A/N: we're getting closer to ekko!! yippee, but as I promised, i will keep posting until they meet!!! . I wrote this when i posted 'II' :3

Your back hurts, yesterday night was exhausting, helping people as usual.

You groaned as you stood up: "My body hurts..", you sighed, relaxing your muscles as you stood up. You walked to the mirror and looked at yourself. Your eyes widened, you haven't bothered to look at yourself in the mirror. It was a shocking sight.

"Wow"

you mumbled quietly, before shaking your head and putting your cloak back on. it was time to get more supplies, well..buy more supplies.

You looked at all the cash you've got by helping other people. The shiny coins laying in front of you, was it right to use them? Did you even deserve this?

─sigh, you looked at your black sack.

"If i want to help more people...Than i should buy the resources to do so"

You said more determined than any other time before, giving yourself a little motivational boost. "I'll ask Ermit where I can find some resources, he'll know where to find something.."

You wouldn't like to admit it but you started to grow a fond of Ermit.

─"Ermit"

you said as you rushed yourself to the counter of the bar.

"Hm, whaddya want, lad?"

Ermit asked while cleaning a glass. The bar seemed busy, was it right to distract him like this?

"Uh, i─do you know any places to find some healthcare resources..?"

You asked awkwardly, you were rubbing your hands together. It was a thing you did when you felt..weird, to put it simply.

Ermit gave you a surprised look, "No more orderin' ma booze?"

"not for today Ermit."

you sighed tiredly as you rubbed your eyes.

"Well─there is a place not far from here that sells what you need."

"Oh?"

Your interest was piqued,

"─uh, they're associated with shimmer though, lad."

"Oh."

You gave a less intrigued expression. But you needed the resources to maintain your job. You had no other choice.

"Tch─can you write the address on something?"

"Aye, lad"

Ermit walked away to find some paper to write the address on.

You watch Ermit as he scribbles the address on paper.

─so you were really doing this, going to a place that associated with the thing you avoided the most, shimmer.

"Stay safe out there.."

Ermit gave you a caring look. He Was worried about you?─you felt..a little smile tugging at your lips.

"Whatever, old man.."

You chuckled lightly, yet when you realized you were too vulnerable, you covered your chuckle up with a cough.

"I─I'm going, bye"

"Oh, bye lad"

Ermit waved you goodbye, yet you didn't react, you just left the bar, without a word. Pushing the door open to leave.
