You wandered through the lanes once more, the cool wind brushing softly against your face, carrying with it the unique scents of the Undercity. The vials in your bag clinked together, their overly annoying, grating sound getting more exhausting with each step you took, a constant reminder of the stupid black sack you carried. It was tiring, a never-ending cycle that seemed to dodge your every effort to break free from its grip, no matter how many changes or tweaks you tried to make.
You gazed around until your eyes landed on this person, who's bone of his arm was sticking out.
"What the fuck—"
You blurted out before you could stop yourself, no wait─that's a bit too mean. Dang, you felt pity for this person, how the heck are you gonna heal that with your stupid vaccines? It seems impossible....It's okay, you've healed another person without a vaccine, this shouldn't be too hard.
The sight of the arm made you want to vomit. How does one acquire an injury so...unique.
"It seems like you need help.."
"Ya think?"
The man with the injury scoffed sarcastically, rude much. Especially to the person who's going to HELP him.
"I'd like to see your magic 'girl Savior'"
"You're doubting that I can heal you?"
"Yes"
Ouch that stung, normally people at least pretend that they have faith in you. This guy was different and so abruptly blunt, but it didn't matter. It was sort of refreshing that there was a person openly saying, to your face, that he doubted your skills.
"Well i'm about to prove you wrong"
You simply said while opening your bag, you took all the stuff you needed to heal this man.
The man raised an eyebrow, clearly still wary of you.
"Ok don't move, I'm going to wrap your arm up in a position so it can grow normal again."
You said while wrapping his arm up, do you even know what you're doing─sigh, yes you do. You felt determined to help this man, to prove him wrong. But what would you do after that? What's the point in proving him wrong...
As you were thinking, you've realised you were done wrapping the man's arm.
Your hands trembled, will the vial even work for this type of injury..? You pushed those thoughts down, you needed to help the man, he needed your help. Proving him wrong makes you feel more like a hero, but you aren't the type of person to play hero.
"Tch─" the man stared at you, impatiently.
Geez, rude much..you took a vial out of the bag and looked at the man.
"Tilt your head up and open your mouth"
"What─"
"Are you deaf?" Do it"
The man groaned and tilted his head upwards. He slightly hesitated to open his mouth yet he still did. As the man waited in this position, you opened the vial, letting one singular drop of the liquid in the vial drop in his mouth.
Your heart was pounding, you felt nervous. You had wide eyes, your hands were shaking. Will it fail, have you brought failure? Yet again you're a useless piece of─
SNAP
"OW─ FOR FUCKSAKE─"
The man yelled in pain, oh no. You felt your heart drop. Did you fail, have you brought more misery to this man? Are people going to hate you again, no, you don't want that, you want people to treat you as a person.
You looked at the man with a guilty expression. He sat there in pain, he felt a rush of sharp pain in his arm, it became more painful by every second, he felt like dying. The man held back his tears as he clutched his arm, until...it stopped, he felt no more pain..
"So..─", you suddenly got cut off by the man.
"The rumors are true, you do make wonders"
The man chuckled softly as he carefully wiggled his fingers, he didn't seem to doubt you anymore.
Your eyes lit up when he said that, you were so glad your cloak hid your expression.
"O─oh?" how so? "Did it work?" You stammered a bit, glad that you didn't mess it up.
"Yes, my arm doesn't hurt now─"
He tried to take the bandages off it, just carefully trying to get it off─until you abruptly stopped him.
"No, keep it in the position for at least 2 weeks, and take care of yourself. It's not fully healed yet, but the most painful part is healed."
You warned him, having a stern and serious tone. You tried to sound at least more professional than you actually were.
The man gave a confused look and it slowly turned into a friendly smile.
"Oh, thanks for the tip girl savior"
What's with the switch in attitude? Whatever, it's probably just because you helped him. Geez, people are so judgemental before they even know you.
sorry if the chapters have been short, but the next chapters will be longer! this is just to give you a background and stuff :3
