"Hello...."
Kinich muttered as he stared at Mualani.
They were both currently outside of the Café. And Kinich seemed... confused? Anxious? She didn't know.

"After you."
Kinich muttered and opened the door for her.
"Ah, thank you!"
They walked inside and were greeted with a cozy atmosphere.
The café had a 'log cabin' aesthetic.
The walls were a dark brown wood, and the floors were a little lighter. The carpets on the floor were green and looked similar to moss.

"Here. You can order and I'll pay."
He explained and Mualani nodded.

"So... why did you ask me to come?"
Mualani asked as she sipped on her hot chocolate.
He sighed and idly fidgeted with the zipper on his jacket.
"...well...I was wondering... if... we.... Could...."
He paused and just looked away. Hiding his blush.
"....could.. what?"
She asked and tilted her head.
"Never-mind."
Kinich whispered and sipped on his water.
Mualani sat in silence and blinked a few times.
"Uhhh... ok? Sooooo- are we just hanging out then—"
"—yes."
Kinich said calmly and but his chin in the palm on his hand.

A loooooooong time later, After many laughs and comments.. it got later into the night and they both were heading home.
"Thanks for inviting me to hang! I had fun."
Mualani smiled and threw away her cup.
"No problem...."
He watched her walk away.
He couldn't just... leave her to walk home on her own!
a wave of protection fell over Kinich.
And he grabbed her wrist instantly.
"Wait- I'll walk you home. It's not safe for a pret- I mean... it's not safe for a girl to be walking home at night alone..."
Mualani blushed and let out a shaky breath.
"Okay..."

A moment later, they were walking down the street.
An oddly comforting silence filling the air.
The silence was broken every now and then by a dog barking, or a person chatting...
"So...."
Kinich cleared his throat.
"....have you put your Christmas tree up yet?"
He asked. Trying to engage in conversation.
"Yeah! I decorated it with a lot of lights! And glitter... I also found a lot of ornaments in storage! So I used them AAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!" Mualani beamed.
Kinich cracked a small crooked smile.
"And... when is the Christmas party again?"
"In a few days! Will you be coming..?"
"Yeah."
Kinich smiled and looked at the door of her house.
"We are here..." Mualani whispered.
"No heck Sherlock.." he teased and opened the door.
"I had fun.."
"Me too!"
She smiled and walked into her house. Waving farewell.
"Oh—and... I have a small Christmas gift for you."
Kinich looked at his pocket.
"Hm? Oooohhh. What is it?"
She asked and followed his gaze.
He took the thing out of his pocket and held it in his hand. Hiding it with his fist.
"Here."
He held his balled up hand to her and she tilted her head..
He slowly opened his hands... revealing....

Nothing?

Mualani gave him a look but blushed when his hand cupped her face.
"Merry early Christmas."

Mualani paused.
Kinich bolted after the small peck he gave.
