Maya chuckled softly, letting Carina's words sink in. She knew she had a point. "Okay, yeah, I guess growing a human being inside me is pretty amazing. But it doesn't mean I can't still be my independent, stubborn self."
She wrapped her arms around Carina's waist, resting her head against her chest.

Week 4
________Carina looked at Maya. "You need to change your pants you're still in your PJS."
Maya groaned, realizing she still had on her pajama pants. "Right, I forgot about that. I guess I was so focused on trying to look presentable on top that I didn't even think about my bottom half."
She reluctantly untangled herself from Carina's embrace and quickly swapped her pajama pants for the jeans she had set aside.
"There, all set," she announced, feeling more like herself now that she was fully dressed. "Can we go now? I don't want to miss our flight."
Carina laughed softly and nodded. "Yes, we can go now. Just make sure you bring your passport and ID, and we should be all set."
She gave Maya a knowing smile, grateful that her wife had finally been convinced to let her help a little more.
Maya rolled her eyes playfully. "I'm not a complete idiot, you know. I know I need my passport and ID. Give me some credit, babe."
She grabbed her wallet and passport from the dresser, stuffing them into her bag and slinging it over her shoulder.
Carina gave her a sly smile. "I never said you were an idiot, Bella. I just wanted to make sure you were prepared. You tend to get a bit scatterbrained sometimes when you're anxious or stressed, which I have a feeling you are just a little bit right now."
Maya scoffed, feigning offense. "Scatterbrained? Me? Never."
But inside, she knew Carina was right. Her anxiety and stress levels had been higher than usual, especially with the pregnancy.
Carina chuckled at Maya's playful protest and turned to her own closet to find something to wear. She rummaged through her clothes, finally settling on a pretty sundress that would be perfect for the vacation.
She quickly slipped into the dress and spun around, giving it a twirl. "How do I look?" she asked Maya with a grin.
Maya's eyes widened as she took in Carina's appearance. The sundress hugged her curves in all the right places, accentuating her toned figure. She wolf-whistled appreciatively. "Damn, Dr. DeLuca. You look absolutely gorgeous."
Carina smirked, clearly enjoying the compliment. "Why thank you, Captain Bishop. You're not so bad yourself."
She sauntered over to Maya, wrapping her arms around her neck. "Although I have to say, I still think you're the sexier one of us."
Maya raised an eyebrow, a sly grin playing at her lips. "Oh, really? Is that so?"
She slid her hands around Carina's waist, pulling her closer. "I think we're both pretty damn sexy, babe. It's really a tie, don't you think?"
Carina hummed in agreement, leaning closer to press a soft kiss to the spot behind Maya's ear that she knows drives her crazy. "I suppose that's true. It's a good thing we're both equally sexy then."
Maya looked at Carina. "We can't do this right now we have to get to the airport."
Carina sighed, reluctantly pulling back from Maya. "You're right, we have to get going. But later, we're definitely picking up where we left off."
As they are getting ready to leave Maya grabbed her phone and dialed the station, her nerves fluttering in her stomach as she waited for the call to connect. After a few rings, Miller's familiar voice came through the line.
