He collected himself up and followed me behind.

"Mommy, did you take Mr.biscuits for bath again?"

Lyra did not seem to notice the person behind me and continued pouting.

I felt Lucian moving to stand next to me.

"Lyra, why don't you move to the play room honey. Mommy will be right back."

Lyra looked back and forth at me and Lucian. She began to move towards the play room.

No words were spoken.

Lucian seemed to regain his composure and quickly trailed behind Lyra.

"Hey princess!" He gave her his signature smile which gave me a glimpse of his past.

Lyra looked at me and I nodded my head.

" Hi I'm Lyra. Nice to meet you." She murmured back at him. She turned shy all of a sudden.

"I'm Lucian. I'm your mom's friend. Don't you look pretty like a princess with that hair!!" He smiled at her in awe.

"Thank you." She said and gave him a shy smile.

"Can you wait for us in the playroom baby?  Mommy will be there with your new toys" I told her, and she hopped away giving me a soft smile.

"She's my daughter, Lyra June." I said, he stood up and move towards me.

"She is beautiful. Our mix." he shook his head.

The faint music played around the apartment and Grey stared right at me.

He twirled me in our small apartment. And we sang together the lyrics to eachother. Our hearts full.

"Hold on to the memories They will hold on to you, and I will hold on to you."

I placed my head on his chest, my safest place. We could hear the people shouting Count down for welcoming the new year.

When the clock struck 12, he pulled me closer and pressed his lips onto mine.

"Happy new year baby. I wouldn't have it any other way." He whispered lovingly and I smiled.

"I hope she doesn't grow up to be like you."

Was something he said which brought me out of the bittersweet memory.

I gave him a questioning glare.

"I received your letter. Selena, you can't run from me now for a second time. This time you clean the mess. I'm going to drag you right into it." He passed me a threat.

"I'm sorry, Lucian. Am I missing something here? I gave a letter to HR stating that I no longer wished to take part in the project, which means I had to give up my promotion. I don't see how any of that is connected to you or how you turned that into a mess for you." I replied, crossing my arms.

"Seriously, Selena!! Don't you fucking—!!" He was getting tensed

"Don't you think your voice is getting too loud. Lower it down. My daughter is there next door." I said, holding his hard stare.

He yanked me by my arm and pushed me to the glass wall.

"You did this again. You leaked the details of my latest projects to my rivals. Selena Lockwood, this time I'm not going without a fight. I will drag you down along with that fuckers."

I shook out of his hold. "Lucian, I don't know any of your files nor was I engaged in leaking them to any of your so called rivals. I never did it then and I definitely did not do it now. I have better things to do that involve myself in your shit." I said growing agitated each moment.

How dare he accused me of something I never did.

"Get out of my house. Do me a favour and don't show me your face. You take this to the court and I will prove my innocence. I am a woman with dignity. When all this shit is done, I will make sure we will not cross paths." I retaliated.

He gave me a final stare and left with a bang on my door.

"That motherfu—"

"Who was that mommy?"

"No one, baby, no one."
