Three minutes before the attack.

"Hey, you okay? What are you doing up here?" Thomas had climbed all the way to the top and found Teresa staring in the distance. It was quiet.

Teresa looked over her shoulder. "Just thinking." She told him. Her voice was hushed and low. She went back to staring at the sky and Thomas took this as a sign to leave. Since she seemed like she wasn't in the mood to talk.

"All right. I'll let you be alone."

Thomas went to walk away but was stopped at the sound of Teresa voice. "Do you remember your mother?" She asked him.

He was taken back by the question. No one really talks about their parents. Well, Chuck did once.

"Uh, I think so." He had faint memories of them but was not sure if they were real. His memories still had yet to fully return since they were wiped. There were a lot of things he didn't know about himself.

"I remember mine. She's a beautiful woman. Everybody loved her." Teresa spoke fondly of the woman. Picturing her mother's face in her head as she spoke.

Thomas did not know where Teresa was going with the story. The atmosphere around them felt odd to him. He just wanted to be there for the girl. And make sure she was okay. That's how much he cared about her.

Teresa continued to talk, "Before Wicked she was all I had. When she got sick I didn't know what to do. So, I kept her locked up. Hidden. I thought she would get better. Every night she would make these awful sounds like screaming. And then one night..."

There was a long gap between the sentence. Adding emphasis on how it made Teresa feel. A situation difficult to talk about. "...She just stopped. It was finally quiet. I went down to her room. There was blood everywhere. She just sat there. Calm. She said she was feeling better. The visions were gone. She said she had taken care of them."

Thomas did not know how to react to what he had heard. He felt bad for her but was at loss of words, not knowing how to comfort her. "She took her eyes out, Thomas." Teresa's voice shook. Tears dared to spill from her water line.

"There are millions of people suffering out there. Millions of stories just like mine." A mood change coming from the girl. She spoke more clearly and purpose than before. "We can't turn our backs on them. I won't!"

Thomas mouth kept on opening and closing, trying to find the right words. "W-What are you saying?" He asked her.

"I'm saying I want you to understand." Thomas was even more perplexed when she said that. Deep down he felt it, that nagging feeling in his chest, the one that is telling him something is wrong. And Teresa was at the center of it.

"Understand what?"

"Why I did it." She had done something she wanted to do since a while now. Something she was dreading because of how the others would react. She knew her friends would be against it. But if they would just understand why, then maybe they won't be as mad, and they won't fight back.

Teresa looked back at the sky, causing Thomas to follow her gaze, landing on helicopters flying straight towards the camp site.

He began to breathe heavily. "...Teresa."

The girl rotated her she body, facing Thomas once again. Wicked was here. "Please don't fight them, Thomas." She cried out.

"What-What have you've done?" The boy stammered out loud. He moved on his feet, wanting to walk away, however unable to walk away from her. "What have you done?" He repeated, turning his voice deeper. Making the atmosphere tense.

Thomas spared one last glance at Teresa before running down the mountain in a rush, tripping over his feet as desperately yelled for the them stop.

It was too late. The damaged was already done. His heart fell as he watched the tents catch on fire in a heart beat.

Thomas was hurt. How could Teresa do that? He thought. He could she do something like that to all those innocent people? She was their friends. She was his friend...and maybe even more than just a friend.

A/N: Teresa is so misunderstood by people. I wanted to include her reasoning for contacting Wicked because it's something that a lot people need to be reminded of. She had the right intentions but betraying her friends and the Right Arm was not ok.

Anyways, I think I might be done with this book in a few days. I'm kinda sad.
