Now playing . . . {"Orange Splash" - J.Bass}

Harin felt better after Sunghoon cheered her up. She wasn't lying. The pudding was so good that her standards changed. Thanks to him. After that, she started going back to school and managed to catch up on her missing schoolwork.

Her parents told her they'll go out on the weekend while Harin will be left alone at the house. Living alone wasn't new to her since her parents would leave her when she started high school. As the weekend arrives, she plans to visit Yeonsu and hang out with her until her parents return.

She waved goodbye to her parents until they disappeared and rushed to her bedroom to get ready. She was about to leave and lock her house when she saw a car parked in front of her.

"Hey hey hey! Where are you going?"

The car window rolled down, revealing Jake with Sunghoon beside him. Harin didn't expect to see them. They caught her all dressed up.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"We're here to babysit you. Your Dad informed me to keep an eye on you."

"What? They weren't like that before," she scoffed.

"I assumed that they became more protective after what happened," Sunghoon spoke, glancing at the girl and giving her a soft smile.

"Perfect, you're all dressed! Get in the car," Jake told her, and Harin rolled her eyes at him.

"I'm going to visit Yeonsu."

"When did you become so annoying? Get in, we're going somewhere."

"Alright, alright! Let me lock the doors first."

She continued locking the door and hopped into Jake's car.

"You're driving? This is new."

"I got my license last month. I don't drive often since my dad didn't trust me using his car."

"I can feel why."

"Hey, asked Sunghoon. My driving skills have improved since I started driving again last week."

Harin moved forward and looked at Sunghoon, waiting for his answer.

"Don't be surprised if we're all going to die."

"Yah!"

Harin laughed, knowing Sunghoon was teasing Jake.

Harin's POV

It was a long ride. I didn't know where the two would take me. It was getting boring as they yapped about random topics.

To reduce my boredom, I kept glancing at Sunghoon, seeing him laugh, smile, listen, and blab.

Whatever you say, handsome.

Jake parks the car, guessing that we have arrived. I scanned at an unfamiliar place inside the vehicle.

"Is this your school? Why am I here?" I asked while getting out of the car.

"Your cousin wants to give you a tour since he can't think of an idea to entertain you."

"Welcome to Borderline University!"

Jake said excitedly, opening his arms wide while walking backward.

Not gonna lie. My eyes lit up seeing it, amazed at it. Observing how the structures are built and how big the campus is.

It was like universities from movies I had watched before. Jake and Sunghoon described every building we saw. It's funny how they're like tour guides, explaining their experiences and memorable moments they had in a specific building or place around the campus.

It was pretty entertaining, especially Sunghoon's.

"This is where couples hang out." Jake pointed at the university's garden.

"I remember Jake and I used to hang out there when we were freshmen. People assumed we're a couple, so we stopped going there."

Jake cackled, and he recalled what Sunghoon meant. I struggled to hide my laugh by covering my mouth but couldn't handle it, making Sunghoon sigh.

Suddenly, Jake received a call and had to take it privately. He told us to continue walking around the campus, leaving me and Sunghoon together.

As we continued to stroll, my heart beat so fast. I was praying that my cheek wouldn't flush around him. I tried to calm down as I listened to Sunghoon's story.

"This wasn't my dream university. Jake just begged me to come and enroll here."

I looked at him; lowkey surprised at his sudden confession.

I don't understand why he agreed to my cousin if his plan isn't here to study.

"Then why did you follow him? Is my cousin that evil that he forced you to?"

Sunghoon chuckled at me.

"No, it's not his fault. It's just that I haven't thought about where university I should go."

"He was pretty convincing, so I just followed him."

"It got to the point that I don't feel like continuing my college years here. So, after this year, I decided to change schools and take an exam for a scholarship to continue my studies."

He glanced at me and smiled, patting my head. "Please don't tell Jake this. I, myself, will inform him."

I slowly nodded and listened to him. I have mixed feelings about it, though. What could go wrong if he followed the path he wanted? He would still hang out with Jake and visit our cafe.

At this point, my thoughts sounds selfish and butting at people's business. This isn't my concern.

I realized I was in deep thought and sighed.

"What are your plans for the future, Sunghoon?" I asked him.

I noticed Sunghoon was surprised at my sudden question for him. He thought about it for a moment and smiled.

"Well,"

"I want to become a teacher one day, then become a professor as soon as I earn a doctorate. Then, spend time with someone special and maybe have my own family."

He sounds so mature. Hearing his plans made me admire him more. It's like it's already fixed, following and taking the opportunities to reach his future. I smiled at his response, my face in awe expression.

"What about you, Harin?"

"Hm?"

"What's your plan for the future? It's better to know your future objectives while you're still young. This way, it's easier for you to follow your desired path."

He looked at me, waiting for my answer.

"For me..."

"Finish high school, study at a great university, meet new people, still be friends with my favorite person, help my parents at the cafe, and maybe construct other branches of our cafe elsewhere."

"Also, meeting my future lover."

"That's nice, and maybe you'll meet your future lover at the university you're going to." he teases.

I glanced and scoffed at him.

"Nonsense. Let's forget about that."
