"Harin, ..."

"I like you."

The way he spoke made the girl silently panic, but his words felt warm and reassuring.

"No..." Harin was in denial. She can't let him be like this. "You can't."

"Why?" 

Sunghoon looked at the girl with a concerned look on his face. He waited, but she just stood there silently.

"How can I win your heart, Harin?"

"Sunghoon, stop. Please... I only see you as my cousin's friend who cares for me and treats me like a sister." 

Her words hurt him. It was like a pang in the chest. "Harin-"

"Didn't you also see me that way?" 

Silence. 

"Why are you trying to change everything between us?"

"What's so bad about letting things change between us?"

Harin was at a loss for words. Sunghoon didn't break an eye-contact with her. He wants her to know that he is genuine and sincere.

"Please, Harin," He holds her hands 

"I want to rewrite our story together—I'm willing to do anything for you."

His voice wasn't rushed or forced; it was steady and calm, like it was something he truly meant. His eyes looked directly at her. Sunghoon noticed her eyes lit up like he had seen it before.

A tear fell from her eye. Harin has been holding her emotions back for so long.

He then embraced Harin, giving her the comfort she needed. Her heart began to beat again at him. 

She couldn't deny that his words and actions calmed her. 

Snow continued to fall as the two hugged each other.

From the distance, Maki saw it all, every action and moment. Earlier, he left to get the bouquet he ordered just for her. 

But his plan failed and felt hopeless. He walks out with a heavy feeling, leaving them alone.

The two couldn't sleep as they got home, especially Harin. 

Harin kept pinching and convincing herself that it wasn't real. Her heart couldn't stop pounding because of that moment.

It bothers her in a good way. She can't even scream since she has roommates.

As for Sunghoon, he kept smiling every time he remembered it. It then came to him that he should calm down. The man couldn't help but text Harin.

"Is she still awake?" he stopped and took a moment.

Harin's POV

My phone buzzed. I sighed and opened it, assuming it was our professor's announcement.

Harin

Are you awake?

That text message almost made me jump out of bed.

Yeah

I am
