Now playing . . . {"No Other Heart" - Mac DeMacro}
Harin's POV
"Yoo Harin?"
My eyes widened. I heard this voice before—this familiar tone. I raised my head and slowly looked at the person before me. "It is you"
...
Sunghoon.
I froze. My feelings were everywhere. As I scanned Sunghoon, his appearance... changed. He's wearing a white polo, black pants, and rectangular specs. His skin is still fair. How did he get so attractive—
Okay, what am I even saying? I followed his gaze and was looking at the can of beer I was holding.
"You're drinking now?" Sunghoon raised an eyebrow at me.
"No..." He then snatched the can I was holding.
"Didn't your cousin tell you you're still young to drink beer?" Did he forget that I'm an adult now?
"Sir, I'm eighteen years old."
"I'm kidding!" He chuckled and stared at me. "Time flies so fast. You've grown like a pretty lady."
The man smiled at me and patted my head.
That smile. I hate that smile.
I carefully removed his hand from my head. He was confused about why I did that and shrugged it off.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be abroad?" I asked him with an awkward tone. I was still shocked to see him, so I wanted to know why he was there.
"I came back here as soon as I finished my studies. I'm now an instructor at my old university and, simultaneously, taking my doctorate to become a professor."
He explained and took a moment to continue. "Your cousin told me that you enrolled at Borderline University. I can confirm that since you attended this party."
Jake, you bastard.
I didn't feel comfortable talking or standing at him like before. It's awkward. I can tell that Sunghoon is trying his best to light up the mood.
Everything between us changed. But judging by his actions towards me, I think I was the problem here.
"I should go now." I excused myself and was about to walk away from him.
He suddenly grabbed my arm to stop me. It made me flinched and immediately remove his hand from me. Sunghoon didn't take it personally and proceeded to talk.
"I'll take you home. It's already late at night."
"No need, Mr. Park. I'll be going with my friends. Please excuse me." I said it formally and calmly before continuing to walk away.
"You knew about Sunghoon?"
I yelled at Jake through the phone in a whisper tone while Minsoo and Gaeul walked back to the dorm.
"I thought it's better to find it out by yourself," he answered, making me scoff.
"You should've told me before I enrolled here."
"Are you not happy seeing him again?"
No.
"Whatever, bye." I sighed and ended the call.
I returned to the dorm along with my roommates.
As I lay down on my bed, I couldn't help but be deep in my thoughts.
Sunghoon? An Instructor at the school I'm at?
What if he's my teacher? He isn't one of the faculty members of my course, right?
God, I should've just followed Yeonsu.
It was the start of classes.
We were told to go to our assigned classrooms. I'm glad that Minsoo is my classmate. I didn't want to look lonely and awkward in the classroom.
However, she is social, and people have started to love her. One trait I like about her is that she didn't leave me behind and introduced me as her friend.
We look at our schedules while waiting for our teacher to arrive. As I scanned it, I noticed that our first period was Analytics.
I read it more and got to the teachers for every subject. I choked at my own saliva as I saw a familiar name.
"Good Morning, class! Welcome to your first day at Borderline University." our teacher said as he walked into the class.
"My name is Park Sunghoon, and I'll be your analytics instructor."
He saw me and smiled.
Holy shi-
