I closed my phone.

Well great. Jake isn't coming, so maybe neither Sunghoon will. I was hesitant to ask Jake for Sunghoon's number. But isn't it awkward to get his number just to ask him?

I sighed and realized it was already late at night. I closed my lamp and slept.

The following day, I decided to help at the cafe again. I'm doing this so my parents will allow me to hang out with Yeonsu. I woke up a little early for this to fix and clean the tables and chairs.

As I wiped the table, ready to open today, I was shocked to see Sunghoon waiting outside the cafe. He waved at me.

"Sunghoon? What are you doing here?" I asked him after I got outside

"I came here early to find a cake perfect for the new year, planning to reserve it."

"Is it still close?"

"Nope, we're just about to open," I said as I shook my head at him.

I opened the door for him and flipped the closed sign after. He strolled towards the cakes displayed at the counter. I followed him as he chose carefully. 

"I recommend you the tiramisu there." I pointed out the cake to him. He looked at me with widened eyes.

"How did you know Tiramisu is my fave?"

"Really? That's also my favorite cake!"

"Ahh, I guess we have something in common," he chuckled.

Oh my god, this means that we're meant together.

Kidding.

"Alright then, Tiramisu, it is!" He clasped his hands together, making me smile.

I slowly took the tiramisu cake out and showed it to him for confirmation. He analyzed it carefully as I turned the cake and nodded.

"You know, giving someone a piece of this tiramisu means you love them so much," I said as I slowly carried it to the refrigerator behind me.

"Hm, really?"

"Mhm." I lied. I just made it up.

"Well, thanks for letting me know."

I saw him smile at me. I knew my heart was about to explode, but I finally learned how to calm myself down.

Sunghoon said goodbye to me, informing me that he was leaving.

Oh right! Shit.

"Sunghoon!"

I called him. He looked back at me before leaving the cafe.

"Are you free on New Year's Eve? I was wondering if you could come with me and my friend to watch the fireworks at the park. And Jake said he couldn't come, so I thought it was okay to ask you to accompany us," I asked him, feeling nervous.
