I wake up the next morning feeling a dip on the opposite side of the bed. I think to myself that it must be Thor, he sometimes comes into my rooms after having a bad dream. It's both funny and cute. I big strong man coming into my room needing comforting from a movie your brain makes in your sleep.

I open my eyes to say good morning to the god of thunder next to me. But to my surprise I see his brother instead. The memories from late last night rush back to me. When I grabbed his arm and asked him to stay. I admire his features in his sleep. He's fully relaxed nothing on him is tense and wrinkle permanently etched between his brows is gone. I decide to get up and get changed while Loki's still asleep. I put on a pair of black leggings and a dark red sweatshirt. I sit on the edge of my bed to put my socks and splint on.

I get up and hop to my crutches. "Stop." Loki says now standing. "Sit," I do as I'm told. "Here," he says handing me the crutches. I thank him and ruffle his already disheveled hair.

"Sorry, couldn't resist," I say in response to his glare. I adjust myself on my crutches and begin to walk downstairs. Loki follows me and I give him a confused glance. "Don't you think they'll find it odd you're coming down with me?" I ask.

"Don't know. Don't care." Loki says. I roll my eyes at him and begin my walk down the stairs.

"Here's your tea and orange slices," Tony says as I sit at the bar.

"Thank you," I tell him as I begin to eat an orange slice. He nods at me and then stairs at Loki who's following closely behind me.

Loki sits on his chair in glared and Tony. "Can I help you?" Tony asks his voice is dangerously deep. Loki shakes his head, but doesn't give an answer. Tony scoffs and walks away from him. When he does, Loki looks around the room to see is anyone is here. When he finds no one he turns to face me.

"Y/n?" I turn to look at him. "Last night, when you were asleep, I accidentally read your mind."

"How?" I stare at him confused while he just smiles and shakes his head.

"In your sleep, I guess your guard is down. You were probably dreaming and saw it too," I stare at him with my jaw dropped.

"You saw it?" I ask him. He nods and I curse under my breath.

"Was it a memory?" He asks me. I slowly nod my head. "I knew you were orphaned, but.." his voice trails off as he speaks. "Do they know?" He asks.

I shake my head. "Only Fury does, and I think Tony knows more than he lets on. But I don't pry."

"I'd pry," Loki states.

"Of course you would," I tell him while laughing. I stop laughing after a few moments and begin to think. "Can you put more water in the coffee maker? I need to ask Tony something," Loki nods while I get up and walk to Tony's lab.

I knock on his glass door and he waves for me to come inside. "Hey kid, what's up?" He greets me as I walk in.

"I have a question," I say to him.

"Fire away."

"When you first met me a few years ago, you seemed like you knew way more than you let on. Why is that?" I ask.

"Shit," he mumbles under his breath and closes his eyes. "Because I do. I pieced it together a few years before. I didn't know who you were but I knew you existed," he begins.

"What do you mean?"

"My mom was pregnant and gave birth when I was seventeen. Your twenty first birthday is coming up, right?" I nod. "Yeah that tracks. Anyway, when she was pregnant my dad had an accident in the lab, my mother was hit with a ray of energy. Doctors said it could've hurt the baby. When no one found anything wrong they continued to set up your room in the house. More planning, blah blah blah. Then, when she went into labor she said you almost floated out of the womb." I laugh at his choice of words. "I know sounds crazy, but you truly did. The doctors did a scan on you and found a foreign energy source."
