Another chapter on time guys! I'm doing good

Cathryn's granola bar turned in her stomach as she found herself unable to look away from Bonnie's large, magenta eyes unprotected by his mask. The milky spheres sat disturbingly in front of a silver mess of tangled wires and gears. However, the oddest parts were that his bottom jaw was still attached, teeth and all, and the fact that Bonnie could still speak perfectly without moving his mouth or having a face!

She'd known his "lips" weren't really forming his words but knowing and seeing were two different things entirely. It left her almost curious to see his voice box. If the whole ordeal wasn't so creepy, she would've asked.

Bonnie held the upper half of his face in one hand, still explaining and pointing out the different miniscule latches he'd used to loosen his fur-like outer layer. "There's two on each side of my face, near the backs of my jaw, and at my temple regions. Then there's a singular one between my ears. Unlike Boss and Chick over there, I don't have one under my chin. My jaw is separate." He stood as if it were impressive.

"Oh wow," Cathryn breathed in response. She was not interested in making him mad while he was only half put together. Just the idea of him charging her without most of his face made her arm hair stand on end.

Chica looked close to throwing one of the smashed cans at him.

Bonnie wasn't bothered by the bird's wordless threats. "It's funny when someone messes with Chick's face. The latch on her chin is under so much pressure that it has to be removed first and offsets her whole mask."

Cathryn wasn't sure if it was safe to chuckle along with Bonnie or not, so she stayed frozen and hoped he wouldn't notice.

Luckily, he seemed more concerned with repairing his face. He messed with the switches, locking his outer layer in place, until his eyes were returned to their sockets and his mouth moved when he spoke again.

The image, while still creepy, brought Cathryn some relief.

"I can take portions of my arms off, too."

Bonnie's voice was followed by a stream of angry beeps from Chica, who did not enjoy the rabbit's form of show-and-tell. In fact, the way she was bothered by him was enough to convince Cathryn that maybe the chicken and her could get along well. If Chica stopped trying to be intimidating and smashing supplies.

"I don't think that's necessary," Cathryn insisted to Bonnie in a hush tone.

His reaction was the most unexpected thing the night had brought so far. Instead of taunts or threats, Bonnie . . . wilted? It was almost a pathetic sight, seeing the rabbit's face blank and his ears shift like they were attempting to droop but weren't made for the motion. Cathryn worried he was angry, but the fear passed. He leaned dully on the wall and turned his head away, pouting.

That was weird, or in any case, more than Cathryn had expected. Chica should've come around a lot sooner if this was the results! The silence penetrated through her skin but was tolerable compared to Bonnie's shrieking voice.

Cathryn rested her head back against her chair, her eyelids threatening to close. Her headache's reign was dragging to an end. There was almost a sense of peace.

Then the loud, unmistakable sound of a third animatronic came from nearby and started her adrenaline up again.

Even Bonnie and Chica perked up at the noise and turned to stare towards the door they'd entered. Chica actually had the privilege of peering down the hall. Cathryn's insides curdled.

"Who is it?" escaped her as her body kicked into high gear. She dropped from her chair and shuffled under her desk, her hands finding the familiar metal pole she'd stashed there after the night before. The frigid touch opposed her already sweaty palm.
