"I am sorry!"

When Klovis and I headed to the realm of Jamaya, we expected her to act all high and mighty—maybe even sit on a giant clam or something. That was her personality that we had in mind. Which is why we were so surprised to find the proud mermaid out of the water so she can kneel and bow her head as soon as we got through the door from Beor's realm.

Without moving our heads, Klovis and I look at each other awkwardly—not knowing what to do in this situation.

"Uh...what's this for?" I decide to be the one to break that silence. Looking around, the realm is a mess. Before, the whole area was just covered in water with only two islands in sight. Now, it looks like the ice age has come in this realm. The one flowing source of water here is in between multiple cracks from the frozen sea. "And uh...shouldn't you tidy your place?"

Jamaya raises her head. "I want to apologize for my previous treatment with you. I was being foolish!" I have to hand it to her. She does look like she repents. To be frank, I don't have that much grudge against her after saving her. When I saw her state, it kind of made me feel sorry for her.

"There's no need for that. It has been forgotten. Just...don't do that again."

"Yes!" Jamaya gives me a salute, which looks ridiculous coming from a kneeling mermaid. Her gaze drifts to our surroundings. A blush creeps on her cheeks like she is embarrassed by the state that her domain is currently in. "This is um..."

I notice that Klovis is looking at me. When I look at him, Klovis makes a gesture towards me, encouraging me to say something to the mermaid.

"No need to feel pressured about cleaning up. Take your time. We all have bad days." God knows how messy my room back in the human world was. When it comes to judging cleanliness, I have no right to judge others. "So, um, would you rather clean up first before we continue with our conversation or—"

"I can't do anything about my domain, but you can!" She interrupts me.

"What?"

Jamaya sits up straight. "This domain is made in the image of Joanah. I can't fix it, but you, as her descendant, certainly can." Her hopeful expression somehow puts a lot of pressure on me.

I swallow nervously. "I can try, but I won't give you any promises. On how it will look."

"That's fine." Jamaya looks at me eagerly. "You can change it however you want. It all depends on your imagination."

Imagination huh. I can certainly do that.

"Here I go." I give them a warning when I close my eyes and summon some ounce of magical power that I have. I picture out a paradise, kind of similar to my ideal form of a beach. I first picture us on an island full of great tropical trees and flowers. After that are lines planks that connects the entrance gate, the island, and then the exit gate. White sandy beach connects to the vast ocean where Jamaya can live. I am not sure where mermaids live, so I take it upon myself to make an underwater bed made from a giant clam for her. I feel my power draining as the whole realm start to take form and follow the image that I have in mind for it.

I open my eyes to see my work. Somehow, it turns out better than I expected. I am not certain if it is because of the effects of being in a fairy realm or not, but the scene before me looks unreal. Everything is so clean and polished. The tropical trees bear fruits that look more like gems than actual fruit. The flowers are full of pixies flocking them like fireflies. The water looks like it is made of out glass, so you can actually see the bed and other accessories that I designed for Jamaya.

I made the place as simple as my mind can do, but somehow, the result seems like it came from a fairy tale.

The squeal of delight comes from the mermaid. Her face looks like how a child would appear when you hand them presents.

"Oh my gosh! I have a bed." She wastes no time and immediately crawls to reach the water. Not one second later and I am watching her take a dive from the cleanly polished planks.

The sand makes a sound, letting me know that Klovis is standing beside me. From the corner of my eyes, I see him there with his arms crossed over his chest. "This looks nice."

"Thanks."

"Never knew you had this kind of imagination."

"...not exactly what I had in mind, but it turned out good."

"I only have one complaint about your design."

I turn to him. "What's that?"

Klovis looks at me with a serious expression. "You made it so pretty that the mermaid who is supposed to tell us something about Zhier got distracted."
