"Mohe rang do laal,
Nand ke laal, Laal
Chedo na more oh rang do laal
Mohe rang do laal"

The next day, Subhadra woke up with a sudden jolt, a spark of excitement flickering in her eyes. She— the one who had flourished, the one adorned with every shade of beauty was all ready to drench everyone with the colours of happiness unknown to her own destiny that she won't be able to celebrate Holi with the people she loved the most.

The ethereal beauty, refreshed and full of mischief, strode into her brothers' room, where they lay in the embrace of deep slumber. Without hesitation, she flung vibrant colors over their resting forms. The sudden assault jolted them awake, their faces twisting in shock and irritation as the hues clung to their skin, seeping into their dreams and pulling them harshly into reality.

Yashoda and Rohini were busy in the kitchen when Subhadra, her heart brimming with mischief, slipped in silently. With a flick of her hands, she showered them with colors before they could react.

"Ohh, this girl!" they exclaimed, shaking their heads as they wiped the floors, their laughter hidden beneath feigned exasperation.

Subhadra, still breathless with excitement, rushed towards the home of her dearest friend—Vrinda.

Vrinda, her childhood companion, her closest and most cherished friend, lived in Gokul. Despite Subhadra's protests, she would one day serve as her personal handmaiden.

The moment Vrinda spotted Subhadra approaching, she knew trouble was near. Stifling a giggle, she darted into her mother's room, pressing herself against the wooden walls, her heart pounding with anticipation.

Subhadra arrived, eyes gleaming, but Vrinda was nowhere to be seen. Instead, she noticed Vrinda's aunt—cunning and cold-hearted, a woman who had never shown true affection to Vrinda after her parents' passing. A mischievous idea sparked in Subhadra's mind.

If Vrinda was hiding, she would have to make do with another target.

With silent steps, she crept up behind the woman, then suddenly leaped forward, smearing her with vibrant colors.

"Happy Holi, Kaki!" she laughed, dashing away as the woman recoiled in shock, spluttering in outrage.

Just as she turned to leave, her sharp gaze caught a glimmer beneath a door—an anklet, peeking out from the shadows. A knowing smile curved on her lips.

Subhadra approached the door with careful precision, balancing a bucket full of color atop it. Then, stepping back, she placed a hand over her heart and let out a dramatic sigh.

"Oh no, Vrinda isn't here... where will I ever find her?" she lamented, feigning defeat.

Inside, Vrinda's lips curled into a triumphant smile. She had outsmarted Subhadra!
