The Union of Grace

Start from the beginning

But the moment Bhrata Krishna turned around and saw Rukmini Jiji, something shifted between them. They locked eyes, and it felt as though the world around them faded away, leaving them in their own sacred space. Dau and I exchanged knowing glances, both sensing the magic in the air.

"Ahem, ahem! Someone seems lost in thought," I teased mischievously, breaking the connection between them. I couldn't resist!

I formally introduced them to each other, and they greeted one another, but soon after, they were lost in each other's gaze again, oblivious to the world around them.

"Ahem! Ahem! My throat's going to hurt!" I teased once more, and this time, both of them blushed deeply, their embarrassment evident.

"I think Pitashree is looking for me," Rukmini Jiji said hurriedly, excusing herself with a flustered smile.

But my dear brother was still blushing like a ripe tomato, and I couldn't resist.

"Someone's blushing, huh?" I teased, unable to hold back my playful grin.

He tried hard to control his blush. "Wh...who?" Bhrata Krishna stammered, his face betraying him as his blush deepened. Dau and I couldn't contain our laughter as Bhrata chased us around. We ran and hid behind a tree, when suddenly, we heard a scream—"Ahh!"—a woman's cry. Without thinking twice, Dau leapt into the water to rescue her.

I knew it was a serious moment, but Dau's expression as he dived in was too priceless to ignore

I knew it was a serious moment, but Dau's expression as he dived in was too priceless to ignore.

He saved her, and she thanked him before rushing off, still blushing.

As the day came to a close, and everyone prepared to depart for their respective kingdoms, I bid Rukmini Jiji a heartfelt goodbye, wrapping her in a tight embrace. She returned the hug warmly, and with a gentle smile, she said she would miss me. It was hard to believe that in just one day, we had formed such a deep connection—a bond that felt as if it had been woven across many lifetimes.

2  Months passed,
Jarasandha, the ruler of Magadha, and father-in-law of Kansa continued his relentless attacks on Mathura. Jarasandha had become such a powerful and influential figure that he was able to summon demons from all over the world to join him in his assault. Instead of Krishna having to travel far and wide to eliminate these demons one by one, he realized that all he had to do was defeat them once they arrived in Mathura. Jarasandha, unknowingly, was bringing them directly to Krishna's doorstep, where the battle would take place.

In this period, there was a sage named Rishi Garga, known for his wisdom and divine power. However, some members of the Yadu Dynasty once mocked and ridiculed him. Deeply hurt, Rishi Garga performed intense penance to please Lord Shiva. After many years of devotion, he asked the Lord for a son who would bring great fear and unrest among the Yadus. Pleased by his dedication, Lord Shiva granted his wish.

As a result, Rishi Garga received a woman from the Yavana (Greek) class, a community considered to be the most uncivilized in society, to bear his son. The child born to her was named Kalyavan (meaning "kal," or time, and "yavana," the uncivilized class), a demon of extraordinary strength and ferocity. His presence alone was enough to send waves of terror through those around him. Since he came from the Yavana class, a group despised and regarded as untouchables, no one dared to approach him.

Jarasandha, always eager to create chaos for Krishna, devised a strategic plan. He arranged for Kalyavan to attack Mathura from the east, while he himself would approach from the west, hoping to trap Krishna between two fronts. When Kalyavan and his formidable army arrived on one side of Mathura, he issued a challenge to Krishna for battle.

Krishna, ever insightful, realized the danger of this situation. If he engaged in battle with Kalyavan and his army, it would only be a matter of time before Jarasandha attacked from the other side. In such a case, the citizens of Mathura would find themselves caught in a dire predicament, trapped between two powerful forces.
