The ebony-hued hedgehog glared intently at the swift blue blur zipping around him, allowing Sonic to carry on with his seemingly endless explanation of the events that had transpired. Shadow's teeth ground together in frustration as he recalled the chaotic moments leading up to this point.

After the police arrived at the scene, the unsettling sight of an ambulance emerged to collect the remains of the fallen criminal, Josh, carefully.

It was painfully apparent to everyone involved that the two hedgehogs—one a notorious figure shrouded in ambiguity and the other a beloved hero—could not be charged with murder.

The police, caught in a web of legal complexities, understood that Sonic's longstanding reputation as Mobius' champion would shield them from pursuing charges, despite the tragic loss of life.

Shadow seethed silently beside him as the officers listened attentively to Sonic's account. Although Sonic's words aimed to clarify the situation.

Shadow knew they were merely a prelude to more questions and suspicions about what had transpired. The police seemed less interested in the truth and more focused on apprehending the rest of the teenagers involved in the harrowing incident.

At that moment, uncertainty loomed heavily in the air, mingling with the sirens' shrill wails and the distant murmurs of the onlookers. Shadow couldn't shake the feeling that justice would be elusive, and the complexities of their past would continue to haunt them as the investigation unfolded.

One of the police officers stood nearby, his eyes scanning the scene with a mix of concern and familiarity. He had crossed paths with Sonic before and was well aware of Shadow's reputation.

He wasn't about to let them get tangled up in a mess they didn't deserve. With a determined expression, he finished jotting down his observations in a worn notepad, the pages slightly crinkled from use.

After snapping the notepad closed decisively, he tucked it into the pocket of his crisp uniform. He took a deep breath as if gathering his thoughts and preparing to speak, his voice steady as he opened his mouth to address the situation at hand.

"Don't worry Sonic and Shadow, we'll take it from here... you both can go home now"

"Thanks, Silver!"

Sonic replied with a smile as Shadow snarled making Silver shift his eyes nervously before they exited leaving the two there as Sonic turned to face Shadow, he suddenly felt the connection of his rival's fist to his muzzle, causing him to stumble backward, Shadow gritting his teeth once more walking towards him...

"I shook my damn head no!!"

He sees Sonic recovering from the previous hit as he strikes Sonic against the muzzle once more, sending him back toward the brick wall as he grunts from the impact of the wall

"All you had to do was listen— for once in your life!"

Shadow spin-dashed toward Sonic but the blue blur was quick enough to dodge his sudden attack and spin-dashed toward the other side
