"What is this about Sonic, Jr.?" He groans

"Father.. Henry didn't let me finish— well, yes I do find Sonic attractive and all... b-but my point is— if we capture Sonic, we're also messing with Shadow, he saved him after all" This made the boss wonder as a light bulb went off in his mind

"That is correct! Shadow did save Sonic... if we can somehow mess with Shadow, we'll get Sonic— he is the 'hero of Mobius' after all" The boss grinned as he got up to face his computer which made the others give confused looks towards each other

"Father?"

Jr. paused momentarily, expecting a response, but the only sound was the rhythmic clicking of the keyboard. He glanced over to see his Father chuckling softly to himself, clearly amused by whatever he was working on.

As the last keystroke filled the room, the computer screen flickered and transformed into a detailed blueprint of Sonic, showcasing intricate designs and annotations that revealed the character's inner workings.

The bright blue lines contrasted sharply against the stark white background, highlighting Sonic's dynamic form and features in stunning detail.

"Not only we capture him... but prepare for an experiment—" Henry was the first to question:

"Boss? What do you mean experiment?"

"A little something Jr. has brought to my attention— you all are wondering why I want to capture Sonic... well I'll tell you why— his energy is unique, you can't slow him down... he has enough power surge to run a whole city!" Matt spoke:

"And what does that have to do with what Jr. was saying?" The boss smirked

"That rodent is not fond of corroborating with me— he's very stubborn and cocky in battle, he's not gonna surrender to me easily... so if we put Shadow's life in danger, he's gonna do everything to help him, even give in... he will hand his energy over to me... I want every last drop of it!!"

"Wait, why are we going after Shadow, why can't we go after his younger broth--"

"And if he doesn't give it to you voluntarily?" Matt interrupted Henry which made the boss grin more

"I'm sure Jr. knows what to do..." Jr. could only smirk

"That's all I need to know, Father... just tell us what to do!" The boss clapped his hands together

"Boys— prepare the badniks, we got an hedgehog to capture!"

"SHADOW SAVED YOU?!" Amy shouted as Sonic held his ears from the loudness, seeing her squealing in her seat

"Amy— please.. and yes he saved me, I don't know why but he did" She held up her hand, silencing him

"Sonic don't you know what this means? He must like—" Sonic was quick to interrupt her

"Oh no! Shadow? No— he doesn't! Like I said that guy hates me" Sonic's face flushed a little as Amy smirked at him

"Then give me one reason why he did?" Sonic turns to face her

"Because he couldn't save Maria—" Amy glared at him

"That sounds like to me— he cares for you... otherwise knowing Shadow, he would've left you to die, but he didn't Sonic!"

The azure figure stood in quiet contemplation, grappling with the unsettling notion that Shadow harbored feelings of affection towards him.

Despite the strangeness of the idea swirling in his mind, he felt an instinctive urge to push it away, unwilling to dwell on it any further.
