I spent so much time waiting for an apology that was never coming.
I spent so many nights hoping they would realize what they did and make it right.
I spent too long looking for closure in the same place that broke me.
But here's the truth that took me years to accept:
The person who hurt you will never be the one to heal you.
You think if you wait long enough, they'll wake up one day and realize what they did?
You think if you cry enough, if you suffer enough, if you break enough, they'll finally care?
You think they'll come back with the perfect apology, fix all the pain they caused, and suddenly everything will be okay again?
They won't.
The same person who made you feel like you weren't good enough will never be the one to convince you that you are.
The same person who made you doubt yourself will never be the one to make you feel whole again.
Healing doesn't come from them. It comes from you.
It comes from deciding that you're done waiting for closure.
It comes from realizing that you don't need their apology to move on.
It comes from choosing yourself, even when they never did.
The person who hurt you is sleeping just fine at night while you're still drowning in the pain they caused. You don't need their guilt. You don't need their explanation. You don't need them to fix what they broke.
You heal yourself.
You move on.
And one day, you wake up and realize that the apology you were waiting for doesn't even matter anymore.
