"I know you're hiding something from me damn it

"I know you're hiding something from me damn it." Alizeh shouted again, throwing the pillow on my face this time.

"If you have understood that then you're smart enough to know it's for a good reason." I sighed taking the same pillow and putting it over my ears.

"I have a very clear idea what this is all about. That's the reason you were always so against me marrying Zain and getting into this family, isn't it?" Alizeh finally gave up and sat on my bed annoyed.

We had arrived at the resort where my dear cousin Alizeh's wedding functions were taking place. She had forced me into taking the bus with her friends and in-laws here which gave me a bad headache. So I was finally trying to rest after we reached the resort but she stormed into my room with a million questions.

"Aariz I'm worried about you, specially if what I think is right."

"I'm fine Zeh." I answered.

"Exactly you're fine. You have been fine for years but not happy. If it's-" She stopped contemplating what to say next.

"Just say it Zeh." I finally got up knowing my stubborn sister won't go anywhere until I answered.

"It's her isn't it?" She questioned carefully and I nodded as she closed her eyes in regret.

"You should have told me before." Alizeh said in a worrying voice.

"It's fine. I couldn't care less about her existence." I answered.

"You shouldn't. But it's still unbelievable! I could have never guessed she would be capable of doing something like that." She said almost sad.

I had known since day 1 that Alizeh was marrying into the Aziz family, in fact not just anyone from that family, but Zaina's brother, Zain Aziz. I didn't tell her anything but I did give my objections about their wedding but she was hell bent on going through it.

Later, she broke off the engagement but Zain Aziz followed her to London where he grovelled to win her back. Pathetic.

"Aren't brides supposed to be busy?" I hinted at her to leave.

"I'm never going to be too busy for my brother." She pouted.

"No need to get so emotional. Now get out before I throw you out." I replied hitting her back with the same pillow she had thrown at me.

NEXT DAY

"Aariz check with the manager if the guests have been assigned to their rooms." My uncle, as in Alizeh's dad asked me.

The only reason I felt obliged to do anything was because it was Alizeh's wedding.

As I walked over to the reception, I was joined by Ahaan and Kabir, Zain's cousins. I had already met Kabir years ago, from the entire clan he was the only good person I had encountered. Ahaan on the other hand, gave me weird side eyes ever since the bachelor's hangout at Zain's place, a week ago. It started right after I finished telling the story of how Zain had barged into my office by claiming to be my best friend and asked for my help to crash Alizeh's date.
