Aariz dragged me from the party to the rooftop poolside where no one was around. "What is seriously wrong with you? I can't believe I felt bad for you yesterday!"

"What did I do?" I questioned.

"First you dropped hot coffee on Amira and then!" Aariz exclaimed but I cut him off to correct him, "The coffee was cold, not hot. If it was hot, her hand would have burned right there. She made that scene for no reason." To which he looked a little surprised for a second.

"You locked her up in the staff room with rats?" He questioned.

"She is one. I thought she would be happy to meet her family." I replied nonchalant. I had no remorse for what I did with Amaira while he closed his eyes as if regretting.

"For god's sake Zaina grow up. You're not in school anymore. Why did you even do that?"

"She challenged me. Moreover I heard the conversation between your parents in the afternoon and specially what she told me after that, she had it coming for her." I replied.

"So what? It's my choice if I want to marry Amaira or whoever. It's none of your concern."

"It is my concern. You can't possibly even think about saying yes to this are you?" I said as suddenly I was feeling ill, not just mentally but even physically.

Aariz pulled me towards him, harshly by my arm, looking straight into my eyes he shouted at me again, "You can't keep doing this to every girl you see me with. You're nothing to me. You don't have any right to interfere in my life or my people. What you did with Amaira was sickening. I can't believe I wanted to apologize to you in the morning for what I did last night. But I was right, you deserved it, probably even worse.

What's worse is that I thought after all these years you would have changed a little. But no, someone gives you one challenge and that's all it takes to bring the worst out of you. You mess up every single time. We are done Zaina. This is never going to happen again, it's been six years." His voice broke.

I could feel my head starting to feel really heavy. But his words also circled in my head 'You mess up every single time.'

It wasn't just his words that went through my head. I had this horrible habit, when something made me sad, suddenly everything else I had ever gone through also flashed before my eyes.

"I'm ashamed of you"
"You'll never be good enough."
"You can't do one thing right."
"No wonder no one likes you."
"You weren't the first choice."
