The door burst open and the guy in the black clothes reappeared."Could you guys be quiet? We're trying to plan an execution here!""You're not going to get away with this, Roman."At least Chase was targeting someone else now.I watched as he stood right in front of this Roman, who just grinned broadly. Then I saw Chase go for a punch, but instead of hitting, he punched through the black fog that Roman turned into.Chase staggered a little. He probably hadn't expected his opponent to vanish into thin air.I had no idea what he could do, but my gut told me we had lost.Chase, on the other hand, seemed to be getting angry. Out of nowhere, a glowing blue staff formed from his hand as if it were a lightsaber. He looked pretty ready to use it. However, Roman had no intention of transforming back. His black mist flew around Chase just like that.

"Can't you do anything?" I asked after a few minutes of him standing almost motionless."I don't know what! These people are still a mystery to me. Besides, only Oliver can fight them in this form!"Well then, it's a good thing you came all this way on your own."We just have to hold out until they get here," he added.Just as I was about to tell him what a bad plan that was, Roman stood in front of us again. His hands glowed and before anyone could react, purple lightning flashed through Chase's body. He screamed and was knocked backward to the ground."You're just a simple human, which will make it all the easier for us."Roman approached Chase menacingly, who was quite beside himself. I couldn't even tell from here if he still had his eyes open."You'll be the first of your team. And after that, I'm going after your sister!"He pulled out a large knife that almost resembled a dagger. He stood in front of the boy in front of me and took a swing. Then he dropped his hands down and aimed for Chase's chest.

Just seconds before impact, a blue shield appeared, blocking it and keeping Roman at a distance. The shock he received from the shield caused him to drop his knife and stagger back a few steps.I breathed out a sigh of relief. I had been sitting there tense the whole time. And even though my injury hurt, I still had enough adrenaline in me to withstand it. Unfortunately, I was no help.Once Roman had caught himself and Chase was back on his feet, they both launched new attacks. Lightning bolts flew across the room, Chase blocked every single one. I had to admit, he had something going for him besides just being smart. And it looked like he had the upper hand.I followed the seemingly endless battle between the two with my eyes. Every time Chase tried to attack, he hit his opponent, and with Roman, Chase blocked everything. But the longer the fight went on, the more I saw Chase struggling with his stamina. I was sure he wouldn't be able to hold out much longer.And as if I had predicted it, Chase made a wrong move and was outmatched by Roman.Literally.Roman grabbed him and threw him with a huge force against the gray concrete wall opposite me. Again, he ran at him and leaned over him. Chase didn't move and was at his mercy. We were both at his mercy.I watched the scene in front of me, transfixed. In my mind, I was just hoping for the promised reinforcement."That's it then. Number one is done. Let's cross you off the list!"Roman's hands were glowing again. But this time he seemed to charge them, then pointed them at Chase.
