...........

The last three months had passed in the blink of an eye. The apartment, once filled with new beginnings, was now a place of memories. Tomorrow, Yashna and Vishwa would be leaving for Darjeeling, stepping into a life away from the city that had shaped them.

Yashna sat on the edge of the bed, running her fingers along the wooden frame, lost in thought. Her heart ached at the idea of leaving behind the streets she grew up in, the skyline she had memorized, and the life she once knew. But amidst all the sadness, there was a calm assurance that she was going with the man she loved. A fresh start away from chaos was exactly what they needed. More than anything, she feared that if they stayed here any longer, Vishwa might find himself entangled in his dark past again. She wanted him free, wanted him happy.

As she folded the last of their clothes into a suitcase, she heard muffled voices from the living room. Yashna paused, her hands gripping the fabric tightly as she listened closely. It was Vishwa and Jai.

"So, you're sure about this ?" Jai's voice was serious, laced with concern.

"Yes. We won't actually be handling anything, but to Him (Viraj's father) , we'll act as if we still hold the power. He needs to believe that nothing has changed, or he'll never accept it." Vishwa's tone was firm but reassuring.

Jai sighed. "I get it. He needs that illusion to hold on to. But what if someone really challenges you ?"

"We won't let that happen. And even if it does, it's your call now, Jai. You're the face of it. I've already stepped back."

A brief silence filled the air, and then Jai chuckled. "Never thought you'd actually walk away, but I see it now. You've really changed."

"Your sister changed me." Vishwa's voice was softer this time, almost filled with wonder.

Yashna's breath hitched. She felt a warmth spread across her chest, an overwhelming emotion washing over her. She smiled to herself. She walked towards the cupboards for checking if she missed something.

Just then, a pair of familiar arms wrapped around her waist from behind, pulling her into a firm embrace. She didn't even need to turn around to know it was him. Vishwa rested his chin on her shoulder, inhaling her scent, pressing himself close to her.

"What are you thinking ?" he murmured against her skin.

Yashna shivered at the touch of his breath on her neck. "Just... about everything," she admitted, leaning into him.

He placed a slow, lingering kiss on the crook of her neck. A soft moan escaped her lips before she could stop it. He smirked against her skin. "You'll love Darjeeling," he whispered, his lips trailing lightly up to her jawline.

She closed her eyes, letting herself drown in the moment, feeling nothing but the love between them. Yes, leaving the city was difficult, but as long as she had Vishwa by her side, she knew she could make anywhere home.

........

Vishwa glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. It was already past midnight, and they had an early morning ahead. He turned to Yashna, who was standing near the window, looking out at the city she had called home for so long. Tomorrow, they would be leaving it behind.

"Yashna, go to bed. We have to wake up early tomorrow," he said, stretching his arms behind his head.

She turned to him with a raised eyebrow. "And why aren't you sleeping ?"

"I want to spend some more time with Jai," Vishwa admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. "I don't know when I'll see him again."

Yashna let out an exaggerated sigh. "I must admit, I'm jealous of my own brother sometimes. You give off some serious 'gay best friends' vibes when you're with him. You guys are all fun." She smirked playfully but didn't dare say it out loud in front of Jai.

Vishwa chuckled at her expression. "You want to join us ?"

"Do I even have to ask for joining my husband and brother , you two men are my lifelines ?" she teased, ruffling his hair as he smiled up at her.

He leaned in and kissed the tip of her nose, making her giggle. "Come on then."

They moved to the balcony, where Jai was already lounging on the floor, leaning against the railing with a can of soda in his hand. The city lights twinkled in the distance, casting a soft glow over the skyline. It was a peaceful night, the kind that made people nostalgic.

Yashna sat beside Vishwa, snuggling close to him while Jai grinned at their affection. "Look at you two. All married and cozy," he teased.

Yashna stuck her tongue out at him. "Jealous ?"

"Nah. I like my peace and quiet," Jai said with a wink. "But I must say, you two being all domestic is kind of entertaining."

They sat in silence for a while, enjoying the cool breeze and the company of one another. Then Jai clapped his hands together. "Let's play a confession game."

Yashna raised an eyebrow. "Really ? We aren't teenagers anymore."

"Come on, it'll be fun," Jai insisted. "We each confess something embarrassing or funny about each other."

Yashna rolled her eyes but played along. "Fine. I'll go first." She grinned at Jai. "I once caught you getting scolded by your crush's dad for trying to talk to her."

Jai groaned. "Ugh, you still remember that ? That man was terrifying. I was just trying to be nice ! I was so scared that you might tell to mom and dad."

Vishwa laughed at Jai's expression, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Your turn, Jai."

Jai smirked and turned to Yashna. "Do you remember how obsessed you were with henna when we were kids ?"

Yashna's eyes widened. "Don't you dare........"

"Oh, I dare," Jai interrupted with a mischievous grin. "She used to put henna on her hands and keep checking every few hours. She would repeat what Grandma used to say.....'If your henna turns a deep red, you'll get a good husband.'"

Vishwa burst out laughing while Yashna groaned and covered her face. "I was a kid ! And besides, look at my henna now," she said, showing off the beautiful deep-red patterns on her hands. "I did get a good husband, didn't I ?"

Vishwa's laughter softened as he took her hand and kissed her knuckles. "That, you did."

Jai made a gagging sound. "Gross. Can you two keep it together ?"

Yashna threw a pillow at him. "Jealous much ?"

Jai dodged it and retaliated by pulling her hair playfully, which led to an instant sibling scuffle. "Remember when you stole my diary and read it out loud ?" Yashna accused.

Jai gasped dramatically. "You mean the diary where you wrote 'Mrs. Yashna Kapoor' ten times because you had a crush on that Bollywood actor ?"

Vishwa raised an eyebrow. "Oh ? Who's this Kapoor guy ?"
