MIA AND ALBUS SLIPPED quietly out of the Slytherin dormitory, their footsteps light on the stone floors as they tried to avoid making a sound.

The castle was dark and silent, save for the occasional creak or distant wind howling through the corridors.

Albus shot Mia a mischievous grin as they crept along, their eyes gleaming with excitement.

“We’re like cats,” Mia whispered, her voice barely above a breath. “Silent, sneaky, and impossible to catch.”

Albus chuckled softly. “Just make sure Filch doesn’t hear us, or we’ll be in for it.”

Mia smirked. “Don’t worry. By the time he realizes what’s happened, we’ll already be back in the dormitory.”

They continued their covert walk toward the Hufflepuff common room, the plan they had been perfecting over the past few days now ready for action. The two had spent hours strategizing, plotting the perfect prank to pull on their Hufflepuff friends—one that would be remembered for years to come.

Once they reached the Hufflepuff common room, Mia and Albus set their prank into motion. Mia cast a series of charms while Albus worked to set the enchanted objects in place. They exchanged satisfied looks once everything was set. “This is going to be brilliant,” Albus whispered.

“Absolutely brilliant,” Mia agreed, grinning widely.

With everything in place, they made their way back to the Slytherin dormitory. But just as they were approaching the stairs, the unmistakable sound of Filch’s gruff voice cut through the darkness.

“Well, well, what have we here?” Filch growled, stepping into view, his cat, Mrs. Norris, at his heels.

Mia and Albus froze, their hearts pounding. Filch’s piercing eyes scanned them both, and Mia could already feel her cheeks heating up.

“Caught red-handed, sneaking about in the middle of the night,” Filch continued, his tone menacing. “You two are coming with me.”

Mia shot Albus a sheepish smile, and he responded with a shrug. There was no way out of this one. They had been caught. Filch led them straight to Headmistress McGonagall’s office.

As they stood in front of McGonagall’s desk, Mia and Albus couldn’t help but exchange guilty looks. Their faces were flushed from the adrenaline, and though they were in trouble, neither could fully suppress their smiles.

McGonagall eyed them both sternly from behind her desk, her hands folded in front of her. “Miss Malfoy. Mr. Potter. What exactly were you two doing wandering the castle at this hour?”

Mia bit her lip, trying her best to look innocent, but her smile betrayed her. “Um, just...exploring a bit,” she said with a nervous laugh.

Albus cleared his throat, adding, “We didn’t mean any harm, Professor.”

McGonagall’s lips twitched, almost as if she was holding back a smile herself. “Exploring? At this hour?” She shook her head in disbelief. “You two are as bad as your fathers were at your age.”

Mia and Albus shared another glance, barely containing their laughter. They knew McGonagall was right—both their fathers had their fair share of mischief during their time at Hogwarts.

McGonagall let out a small sigh, then waved her hand dismissively. “Off to bed, both of you. And I don’t want to hear of any more late-night ‘exploring.’”

“Yes, Professor,” they chorused, still smiling sheepishly.

The next morning, Mia and Albus sat at the Slytherin table, both of them trying to suppress their laughter. The prank they had set the night before had gone off without a hitch. The Hufflepuff common room was filled with enchanted bubbles that followed the students around, popping and splashing them with harmless but colorful confetti. It was the talk of the castle by breakfast.

Mia and Albus sat with their heads down, clearly trying to hide their giggling faces. They could feel the eyes of their classmates on them, everyone knowing who the likely culprits were.

Just as they were about to burst into laughter again, a shadow loomed over them. They looked up to see McGonagall standing there, her arms crossed, and a knowing look on her face. “I don’t suppose you two know anything about the incident in the Hufflepuff common room this morning, do you?”

Mia bit her lip to stop herself from laughing. “Not at all, Professor,” she said, but the twinkle in her eyes gave her away.

Albus nodded, trying his best to look serious. “No idea how it happened.”

McGonagall sighed, though there was a hint of amusement in her eyes. “I should’ve known,” she muttered. “I’ve already sent owls to your fathers.”

Mia and Albus exchanged a quick glance, their grins faltering slightly. But they couldn’t deny the fun they had.

Later that afternoon, Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter stood in McGonagall’s office, their faces set in mild amusement as the headmistress explained what had happened.

“Your children seem to be carrying on the family tradition of mischief,” McGonagall said, shaking her head with a bemused smile.

Draco chuckled, glancing at Mia, who was standing beside him. “Well, I can’t say I’m surprised. Mia’s always had a bit of a prankster streak.”

Harry laughed, looking at Albus. “Looks like he’s taken after me more than I realized.”

McGonagall sighed, but there was warmth in her tone as she said, “It seems like I’ll be seeing more of the two of them in my office if this keeps up.”

Mia and Albus grinned sheepishly, and the fathers couldn’t help but laugh along with McGonagall. Even the headmistress allowed herself a small chuckle.

“Well,” McGonagall said, “as much as I disapprove of this sort of behavior, I suppose it’s all in good fun. But let this be the last time I catch you sneaking around the castle, understood?”

“Yes, Professor,” Mia and Albus said in unison, still smiling.

As they left McGonagall’s office, Mia and Albus walked beside their fathers, the atmosphere light and full of laughter.

Draco glanced down at Mia, a smirk on his face. “You know, you’re going to give me more gray hairs if you keep this up.”

Mia giggled. “Come on, Dad. It was harmless fun.”

Harry nodded in agreement, clapping Albus on the shoulder. “I’ll give you points for creativity, at least.”

The group shared another round of laughter, the bond between the fathers and their children as strong as ever, even amidst the mischief and mayhem.
