"When you're done, meet me in the kitchen so we can start preparing for Iftar. Your sisters will soon be back from the market" Her mom said and walked away.
"Right here ma." She ran to the kitchen immediately after she had satisfied herself with making Dua.
A few moments later, her siblings returned and proper preparations for Iftar started.
Mazeedah was already tired, and she just dragged her feet to the sitting room after dropping the items they got in the kitchen. She literally sank into the sofa and looked wearily at the TV.
Hafsah also made an excuse of being tired from the market journey so she was resting up as well leaving only Jameelah and their mom to do the cooking.
Though their mother wasn't okay with it but their tiredness was justified. Jameelah herself didn't have any problem with it. She doesn't see it as anything and she hardly finds fault with situations, she understood perfectly that her sisters were tired.
At some point, she told her mom to leave it for her, she would do it singlehandedly. That's how much she cares about her mother but she refused and they did the cooking all through together.

It's Iftar time at the Lawans. A whole lot of preparations have been made and the giant dining table was filled with dish plates containing variety of Hausa dishes, fruits in different species and sizes, dates, juice, water and all that.
Everyone was sitting in the living room making their individual Duas.
Suddenly the scream of "Iftar Mubarak" was heard in the air and Jafar approached from the hallway tracing the railings of the duplex's mighty staircase down with his fingers.
Everyone burst into laughter and an unknown wave of joy filled the air.
"I knew you would do something like this. It could never be other than my cousin" Aishatu, one of Yassir's daughters spoke smirking Jafar's shoulder and he grimaced.
"No body contact Aisha, how many times do I have to tell you that. Stay put" He frowned and her face wore guilt.
He had truly, always warned her but the poor girl likes and admires her cousin a lot. She doesn't leave out any chance to be around him.
"I'm sorry Jafar" She muttered politely and he nodded not sparing her a glance.
"Come on children. Have dates" Their grandma called and everyone obliged after having said their Dua. After a few minutes of munching on fruits, the men went out to the masjid while the women stayed back home to pray.
Ummu Hamza led the prayer, joined by her sister in-law, Juweriyyah and her two cousins Aishatu, Khadeejah and their grandma. It was a beautiful congregation as she filled the air with her sonorous voice.
After the prayers, the men headed home. The two brothers, Yassir and Abdul Hamid Lawan, walked ahead while the boys trailed behind discussing their individual experience in each of their universities.
Zayd was the youngest amongst the boys, he is Aishatu and Khadeejah's brother and the only son of Yassir.
He is an aspiring Law student of the Bayero University, Kano and he just recently wrote the SSCE and UTME Board exams.
He tagged along with the twins, who just recently gained admission into uni and are in their first year. They discussed about school life and the likes.
On the other hand, Hamza and Jafar walked together discussing a very hot subject concerning some girl and Nikkah.
Hamza revealed how he particularly likes a girl in his department back in school, College of Medicine.
