Friday evening used to be cool and serene in the Lawans mansion, but today hits different.
Abu Hamza's Only sister is getting married on Sunday, though the ceremony is taking place in Kano but his house is full of a lot of preparations.
Gifts for the couple, for guests and for the bride herself is being arranged and to tell that obviously this isn't a regular ceremony, it's one like no other.
The family are traveling again and it means every body is gonna be home once again.
Happiness filled the air and everyone's faces beamed with smile. Juweriyyah is the happiest, not only because her aunt is getting married but because it means seeing Zayd again. As usual, every celebrations is at their house.
She never thought about it before, even when the Nikkah was being announced during Eid Al Adha then, it hadn't occured to her but now that it became glaring, she couldn't help but blush all day.
Family members were already gathered as at a day to the wedding. On the D-Day, visitors troop in ranging from old family friends, to new ones, families from within and outside the country, both the bride's and the groom's, friends and well wishers.
Though flamboyant, the Nikkah was simple and gracious and by evening, the bride was sent to her home.
During the bride's farewell party, Juweriyyah couldn't help but cry herself. She would really miss her aunt.
Everyone consoled her but her tears were not going to stop until Zayd mentioned that he would take her to Abuja whenever she wanted to provided she makes it to his school.
Of course he asked for a lone time together after the whole celebrations and that was where he told her that to which immediately, she stopped crying.
The breeze was cool at the terrace and as usual, Jafar made a third party. He smiled watching the two of them and was at least happy this time that he also found someone he liked, only that he had been busy with the wedding precessions the whole week and hadn't been able to tend to his own life.
With the conclusion of the wedding, he's going to spring into action
"How's preparation for exams going?" Zayd asked. They were sitting on separate couches placed at the terrace for leisure time.
"Alhamdulillah it's going on fine" she replied softly and he nodded.
"In Sha Allah you're going to pass the exams in flying colors" He prayed and she muttered a soft Aamiin
Jafar overheard and also muttered a loud Aamiin to which they both chuckled.
"How's your own admission?" Juweriyyah asked fiddling with the hem of her hijab
"Alhamdulillah. Still waiting for the admission lists"
"In Sha Allah you're going to be admitted on merit" She prayed and they muttered Aamiin and chuckled again
They spoke about a few more things before Jafar informed that it was time for Salaht Isha.
The two cousins finally got done talking and parted ways after saying the tasleem.
Zayd made sure he was at the airport to see them off when they were leaving for Lagos and he repeatedly bade her until they were out of sight.

Normally she would call her mom in the morning to make sure everything's fine before going to school and when it's evening, her mom would call her but today it's different and Jameelah wondered why her mom is calling her in the early morning.
