I gave him a small nod in return.

Satisfied, he turned toward the door. "I'll be waiting outside. And you"—he shot Mattheo a glare—"better not make a habit of this."

Mattheo just grinned. "No promises."

Draco rolled his eyes and walked out, leaving the door open behind him.

I turned to Mattheo, raising a brow. "You love winding him up, don't you?"

He smirked. "It's one of life's greatest joys."

I shook my head, but despite everything, I couldn't help but smile

After getting dressed quickly, I ran a hand through my hair, still half-asleep as Mattheo and I stepped out into the common room. The moment we did, I knew something was off.

Draco stood near the fireplace, arms crossed, looking absolutely pissed. His glare immediately locked onto me, but the real giveaway was the way everyone else in the room—Theo, Blaise, Pansy, Astoria, Tom even Enzo—were all staring.

Mattheo let out a low chuckle under his breath. "Well, that didn't take long."

I shot him a look before turning to Draco. "Really?" I asked, exasperated. "You told them?"

Draco scoffed. "Of course, I did! You expect me to just walk in and see that and not say anything?" He threw his hands up. "You were in bed with Mattheo."

Theo grinned. "In bed in bed?"

I groaned, rubbing my temples. "Nothing happened."

Pansy raised an eyebrow. "So you did sleep together?"

I opened my mouth, then shut it. "Not like that."

Mattheo, entirely unfazed, stretched his arms behind his head. "She had a nightmare. I stayed. End of story."

Draco let out a dry laugh. "Right. Because you are known for your self-restraint."

Mattheo just smirked. "What can I say? I'm full of surprises."

I rolled my eyes, shoving past Draco toward the door. "Can we please just go to breakfast? I'm too tired for this."

Draco huffed, but followed. The others trailed behind, still whispering and throwing me looks. I ignored them, though I caught Blaise nudging Theo and mouthing interesting with a knowing smirk.

The Great Hall was already buzzing with energy by the time we arrived, students scattered across the long tables, voices overlapping in an early-morning hum. I dropped into my usual seat at the Slytherin table, reaching for a cup of coffee before I even thought about food.

Draco sat beside me, still brooding, while Mattheo took the seat across from me, his usual smirk still firmly in place. The rest of our group followed, filling the space around us as plates piled high with food.

For a while, we just ate, the tension from earlier fading as conversations picked up. Theo and Blaise were already in the middle of some ridiculous argument about Quidditch tactics, Pansy was fussing over Astoria's hair, and Enzo was just laughing at all of it.

"You lot are so dramatic in the mornings," I muttered, sipping my coffee.

Theo grinned. "Oh, I'm sorry, did we interrupt your brooding?"

"She didn't get to brood, mate," Mattheo cut in, shooting me a glance. "She was too busy cuddling me."

I groaned, setting my cup down with a little too much force. "Can we not?"

Blaise smirked. "You didn't deny it."

Draco, who had been quiet until now, let out a sharp sigh. "Because she knows it'll just encourage you if she argues."
