The party had already started by the time I finally finished getting ready. Music pulsed through the walls of the Slytherin common room, the sound of laughter and chatter mixing with the clinking of drinks. I took a deep breath, smoothing my dress down one last time before stepping inside.
Heads turned as I entered, and I couldn't help but smirk slightly at the reaction. Mattheo, Theo, and the others were gathered near the drinks table, already caught up in whatever chaos they had started. Mattheo's eyes landed on me almost instantly, and his usual cocky smirk faltered for a second as he took me in.
"Well, well, look who finally decided to show up," Theo teased, raising his drink. "Fashionably late, as always."
I rolled my eyes, making my way over to them. "Had to make an entrance, didn't I?" I said, grabbing a drink from the table.
Mattheo still hadn't said anything, just watching me with that intense gaze of his. When I finally turned to him, he smirked, stepping closer. "You look..." He trailed off for a second, then shook his head with a chuckle. "Yeah, you know exactly how you look."
I arched a brow. "Oh? And how's that?"
"Trouble," he murmured, taking a sip of his drink, eyes never leaving mine.
I laughed, nudging him slightly before turning to the others. "Alright, what's the plan for tonight? Are we drinking, dancing, or are we going straight to the chaos?"
Pansy grinned. "All of the above."
Theo clapped a hand on Mattheo's shoulder. "Let's get her a drink first. Can't have our guest of honor standing here empty-handed."
I smirked, taking the cup he handed me. "Fine, but only if we make this a night to remember."
I dipped my finger into the fine white powder, bringing it to my nose as the familiar rush hit almost instantly. A warm buzz spread through my body, dulling the edges of my thoughts, quieting the chaos in my mind.
Turning back toward Mattheo, I held out the bag with a smirk. "Want some?"
He raised an eyebrow, glancing between me and the powder. For a moment, he looked like he was considering saying no, but then his signature smirk returned. "You trying to corrupt me, sweetheart?"
I rolled my eyes. "As if you need my help with that."
Mattheo chuckled, taking the bag from my hand. "Fair point." He tapped a little onto the back of his hand before inhaling sharply, tilting his head back with a deep breath. When he looked at me again, his pupils were already blown wide, and he licked his lips. "Shit. That's good."
I grinned. "Told you."
Theo walked over, noticing the two of us and narrowing his eyes. "Oh, great. You two getting reckless already?"
Mattheo draped an arm around my shoulder, grinning lazily. "Come on, Nott, live a little."
Theo huffed but reached for the bag anyway. "You're both bad influences."
In no time, the music pulsed through the room, and I found myself lost in it. The drinks, the powder, the adrenaline—it all blended together into something electric. Mattheo twirled me into him, his hands settling on my waist as we moved in sync with the beat.
I laughed, my head tilting back as the room spun in the best way possible. "See? Told you we needed this."
Mattheo smirked, his grip tightening slightly. "You always have the best ideas."
Theo, Enzo, Pansy, and the others weren't far behind, all caught up in the energy of the night. Blaise had somehow acquired a bottle of Firewhiskey and was passing it around, while Draco and Astoria sat off to the side, watching but still enjoying themselves.
