The flaming barrier

"I will not have any dragon ruin my hatching day" Queen Scarlet hissed at the three dragonets as they were being taken somewhere in the Palace. The guards stopped at a signal and Scarlet went to a room just to the side. Down a small path into a rocky, cave like room. "Out!" Queen Scarlet snorted and an irritated voice answered back.
"This is my room!" Peril let out a growl.
"And I'm the Queen" Queen Scarlet gave a low growl and Peril sulked out. "Now" Scarlet pushed all three dragonets in, "you can't cause trouble in here". The Queen grabbed a bunch of black rocks, lined a generous amount by the entrance of the cave and set them a light. Trapped with a wall of fire.

"Smart to use the song to rally up the prisoners" Tsunami complemented Starflight. He shook his head and drew his front talons to an x.
"Wasn't me" Starflight admitted and they both turned to Clay. He drew a big grin and lifted his wing to show the make shift, stringed instrument.
"I was able to make it when one of my wires broke" Clay explained, "I didn't exactly planned this to be honest". As Clay confessed Starflight felt a vision poking at his side. He cleared his throat, instinctively looking to the moons as it played. Peril came to rescue them but ultimately back stabbs them. Starflight saw this already but now he sees how her plan actually ended up. Her plan fails when her opponent to save Kestrel is Clay. Starflight looked further, back tracking to see Tsunami fighting a deranged seawing. Then she is put against Starflight, where Morrowseer interups and takes him. But leaves the others.

In the end, they all do escape, Clay, Tsunami, Glory and Sunny, they escape. With the help of Peril but also that black liquid. It was Glory! Glory was the one who shot the venom and she uses it on Scarlet! "Starflight" Clay nudged his shoulder gently. His large talon just pushing Starflights shoulder to get his attention.
"Sorry" Starflight shook his head as he snaps back to present, "I had a vision". Clay and Tsunami perked up but how is Starflight ment to sum it all down?
"Morrowseer is coming" Starflight admitted, their hope shined in their eyes but Starflight would have to kill that light. "He's... only taking me" Starflight began to explain.
"What?" Tsunami snorted and her gills flared, "why just you? We're all apart of the prophecy! Are we not?"

Starflight sank his head down, guilt hit his chest. So much has happened that he hadn't had time to tell them the truth. "About that" Starflight whispered. Tsunami had her chest puffed like she was ready to argue with Morrowseer himself but then her gaze softened when she looked at how Starflight sulked. Clay had his big brown eyes looking over him with concern. "The prophecy is-" Starflight bit his tongue, how can he brake it to them? With a quick breath, he decided to strike whilst the iron is hot. "It's fake- the other nightwings, they have no powers" Starflight felt his eyes heat up, it was hard to even process, he hadn't had time to process.
"What!" Tsunami hissed with a greater fury, "all those years! All that trianing! Suffering! Just for it to be fake!". Tsunami didn't hesitate to express her thoughts but Clay was quiet.

"Fake? I'm just... ordinary?" Clay thought in a shock, his expression showed his devastation.
"I know- we don't have much time, you all have one opportunity tomorrow. Follow Peril, she'll lead you to Sunny and with Glory's help you can all escape" Starflight explained, his heart pounded, adrenaline causing his wing tips to shake. "I will find you again, that I can promise" he finished. Clay and Tsunami couldn't respond before Peril poked her head through the fire. Her blue eyes stared at each one of them, Clay looked delighted but Tsunami let out a hiss and backed away.

"This is blazing, I can play out my plan perfectly when they're locked up here instead of the pillars" Peril thought with a song.
"It won't" Starflight blurted, his voice shaky and anxious. "Why am I finding myself being the one who needs to step up? Why am I the one who has to be brave? Why couldn't I have told Tsunami and she can tell Peril? Tsunami would have loved to be the one to tell her" Starflight thought as his wings shook. Peril turned her blue gaze at him, standing in the fire, she looked like she was made of fire. Starflight could only think of the flaming barrier he was ment to find. "I mean, your plan won't work because Queen Scarlet won't let it work" Starflight repeated, his voice a more nervous tone.

"Of course it can work" Peril hissed, letting off more smoke, "Her majesty would be too busy to notice".
"Tomorrow you would have to fight Clay, wouldn't that disrupt your plan?" Starflight had to force his mind to think more logically. It was the only way to keep his tone a sturdy nervous instead of a shaky, half muttered nervous. Peril's mind didn't help, one sign of something she didn't like and she's already planning on how to kill him and Tsunami if she had to. With a gulp, Starflight added, "I know what can work".
"How exactly?" Peril gave an accusing tone, her eyes narrowed as smoke poured out of her snout.
"I can see vision's, foresight" Starflight explained. "If you try your plan you doom us and you would have to kill Clay."

"Eesh, I'd rather choose not death, not to be killed by a friend" Clay shook his body then his head. Starflight side eyed him when he felt Peril a little hurt to be called, "just a friend". Even Tsunami caught on with Peril's expression.
"Fine" Peril hissed, she spat and it evaporated in the flames, "what if your plan? Better be more blazing than mine". Starflight swallowed, he took a breath and thought.
"I foresee" he began, choosing his words carefully, feeling his talons shaking under him. "We do nothing. Let events play out, Morrowseer would take me away from the Skywings but you and Glory are able to save Clay, Tsunami and Sunny" Starflight explained. "The most heroic-" Starflight paused, leaning in to whisper so only she could hear, hard to do when they're all trapped in the same room. "And Clay approving-" Starflight then spoke up, "thing to do, the path I see is clear and we all get out alive, even Kestrel".

Peril was still in the fire, her blazing blue eyes observed Tsunami, then Starflight then they rested warmly on Clay. "Knew it" Starflight thought, "not the time but I knew she'd be over the moons for Clay whilst he's absolutely dense and clueless". Starflight blinked and Peril turned out of the flames, she left up the tunnel, leaving the dragonets. "You said you can read minds, right Starflight?" Peril thought, "fine I'd follow your plan but if things end wrong, it's on you". Starflight let out a soft sigh and his wings relaxed, he hadn't realised they were so tense.
"Is that a good sign?" Tsunami asked, she looked suspicious and untrusting at the flames. Starflight nodded and Tsunami relaxed her narrowed eyes slightly.

"The only thing I need to mention now," Starflight turned to Clay, the mudwing titled his head ever so slightly, curiosity in his eyes.
"Is this about how Peril obviously has a crush on him?" Tsunami thought, more so to herself then actually asking. Starflight shook his head to her then continued.
"Clay, do not hesitate to touch her, I saw you touching Peril multiple times but you never burned or melted. Infact it reminded me of something I saw in a scroll once" Starflight felt like himself again, his helpful tutor voice was so comforting to have come from him. "You're from a red egg, it has been documented that dragons born from red eggs, hatch to be fire proof". Starflight mainly got that conclusion from his vision of Clay and Peril playing in the mountains together, Clay had touched her then.
"I'm fire proof? Maybe I'm not all that ordinary" Clay gave a grin and for this small moment, everything felt like things can turn out just fine.
