Starflight had woken to Fatespeaker gently pressed on his back and Moon curled between them. Blob was in his usual spot, beeing the amazing pet he had been since Starflight found him. He was the first to wake and a gentle breeze replaced the harsh winds of the storm from last night. Starflight couldn't help his soft smile, letting go of the reins of his powers, he relaxed a strain he had in his mind. "Sunshine today" a dragonet had thought with joy.
"Would Banana be out looking for fresh fruits yet? He always brings my favourite!" Another had thought in a drowsy joy.
"Come on, Maple! Wake up so we can go and plaaaayyy!" An impatient one then thought. Starflight stuffled his soft chuckle, hearing the happy thoughts of dragonets was a nice brake after none stop conflict ever since he had escaped his cave with his friends.
"What a wild few months" he thought in realisation. If not for Morrowseer's order to have Glory killed, he would still be in the study cave, waiting patiently for Sunny to wake up to. Having Kestrel's trianing sessions every day at dusk and after that, Webs to teach them a new chapter of history. But then a stab of an old wound of guilt hit Starflight, at midday, everyday without fail, Dune would have taught them hunting skills or flying lessons. All skills he and his friends had used to survive this long, "if only I could have warned him... warned him and not have our plan dislodged". Shaking his head he focused on his foresight, maybe the future could shed some hope. Feeling Fatespeaker asleep on his back and Moon curled up safely infront of them, he relaxed and closed his eyes.
Starflight saw Moon, when she is older and in a new academy, being dorm mates with a rainwing dragonet. Her quiet nature being balanced with this dragonets high energy one. Starflight was also able to see her in a group project with her classmates. A huffy icewing was being pleged by an older Qibli and the rainwing had been buissy on an art project with a familiar seawing. Prince Turtle, older in this vision, carefully trying to follow instructions on a scroll whilst the rainwing desperately tried to make the project more fun. There was also an unfamiliar skywing dragonet in this vision, she was just as unhappy as the icewing and ultimately decided to do her own, independent project. In the end, the big picture showed each dragonet happy, working together even if reluctantly. "A future were all dragons can study together" Starflight thought then nodded, exiting the vision with a nod, "it's perfect".
A grumbling and a stirring Fatespeaker brought his attention back to the present. Fatespeaker yawned and blinked up at Starflight as she slowly realised she had been laying on his back the whole time. "Oh, sorry" Fatespeaker got up and yawned, Starflight's back quickly grew cold with her absence. Her movement had began to wake Moon up as well.
"No, it was ok" Starflight spoke quietly back but it was too late, Moon sat up with an unhappy pout.
"Grr- too early" she whined and rubbed her eyes dramatically.
"Come on, breakfast" Fatespeaker had quickly livened up, nudging Moon to keep her awake. Starflight nodded at her suggestion.
"Yes, food and we also need to check up on Glory and Thorn, see what they had decided" he got to his feet and opened the door. Outside was damp but a warmer breeze howled down and brought in fresh smells. One stretch was all it took for Starflight to lift off into the air, hearing Fatespeaker and Moon close behind, he swiftly made his way to the town center. Most rainwings had already began to get their morning meal, including a small, huddled group of his friends and the Outclaws. Landing softly on the wet wood, he looked over at the scorched tree. It's bark had fallen and crumbled off, revealing burnt wood underneath. Rainwings were already at work to remove the weakened and dying branches before they break anything else. Queen Grandeur sat watching and guiding them, a new, yet small, flower crown on her horns.
"Brutal, I know" Glory had walked up, offering a talon full and fruits to the approaching trio. "Spent the night away from us? With your new friend" she then thought to him with a sarcastic tease, which earned an unamused pout from Starflight.
"What was that supposed to mean?" Moon had asked, taking an orange and a mango.
"Nothing" Starflight quickly thought back, taking a few for himself and Fatespeaker thanked Glory, blissfully unaware of her joke. "What's the plan? I assume you had informed Queen Grandeur in?" He then asked outloud.
"Me and Queen Grandeur had a... long discussion" Glory sighed, in here eyes was a tied anxiety forming. "We talked about a few things but once that tree is sorted there will be a meeting, I need your help for a speech" she then admitted.
