Starflight followed this dragon as he lead them down the main street of the Scorpion Den. Kestrel right on his tail, her gaze scanned the stalls, open stores and all the way up to dragons on roosts. "In a Den like this, all it takes is one wrong dragon and it would feel like the moons are falling out of the sky" Kestrel warned in thought to him, "keep your wits about you". Starflight nodded back to her, the dragon escorting them was oddly quiet in mind. As he walked, dragons would respectfully move to the side and observe the newcomers. Turning his head to look behind his shoulder, Starflight saw that Glory had kept Sunny by her side, she must had noticed all the extra stares to the small sandwing.
Tsunami and Clay had taken the rear, the mudwing on alert for his friends and the seawing Princess keeping look out. She had a faint glow on her scales, making an illusion that the sun was bouncing off her scales more than usual. "Neat trick huh?" Tsunami thought to Starflight as she met his gaze, "Anemone taught me this one. She said that when being in the spotlight gets overwhelming, you can make that spotlight disorientating to look at". Starflight nodded his approval and turned back to the large sandwing escorting them.
"It's so hot, the sunlight is filling but how do these dragons deal with it?" Mangrove thought as he scanned the dragons at the stalls. He had turned the scales on his back golden and his underbelly a pale yellow, as if to mimic the sandwings around him."Keep close" their escort spoke up, his tone mutual, "these streets can be narrow and winding so watch yourself". Starflight silently nodded back but his eyes were on the guards that dotted around the Scorpion Den. Tall pillars were built with a simple platform, each one had a dragon on guard, on top. Each had their own main street to overlook, on one talon Starflight felt a bit of security; if a fight were to break out, these guards can stop it in an instant, the thought of a fight made Starflight gently press his wing to his hidden sword. But on the other talon, Starflight didn't like their thought process, they were on guard but not just to stop any brawls. "Looks like that old assassin had final learned his lesson, I hadn't seem him out of line, not even by a scale this month" one thought.
"I really wish Thorn would take me seriously about these plant stands, I don't know why a mountain plant would smell of ash" another had his gaze on a skywing stall."They're here to be on patrol" Starflight began to conclude, "but they're also keeping an eye on specific dragons".
"Don't slow down, you're currently in lead" Kestrel hissed behind him, the fire is coming hiss was enough to make Starflight pick up his speed. By now, their escort stopped on what looked like town square, a wide open space with a well in the middle. Dragonet groups played in the shade and working dragons hurried along the path as their mind were fixed on their jobs.
"Your rainwing buddy doesn't look to be adapted to the desert" the dragon spoke calmly, pulling a bucket of water for the outnormal group. "Here, that should be enough" he than sat the bucket infront of them, passing a wooden cup to Mangrove.
"Thank you" he gave a polite nod and took a few sips then handed the cup to Glory as he panted.Starflight had to admit, when the cup was past to him and he sipped the cool water, that his scales felt like oven rocks. "We can get moving now" Glory announced as Tsunami splashed her gills and Sunny had took it apon herself to set the bucket back.
"What is your name anyway?" Kestrel had asked, her voice a little more soft after a quick drink.
"Sixclaws" Sixclaws answered without much thought but there was suspicion and curiosity on Kestrel's mind. She only hummed in respect however then muttered her own name.
"Kestrel".
"This way" Sixclaws turned and went up a road that began to look less and less buissy. But as Starflight went to follow his eyes caught ahold of notice board. There were many posters and ads but three caught his eyes."Wanted, Dead or Alive!
If you see this dragons face capture and bring them to Thorn immediately!
Reward! Reward! Reward!" Starflight felt Glory and Sunny also looking at the posters for they knew two of these dragons well. One poster was of a sandwing that looked identical to Dune, from his chipped horn and his scarred face, there was no mistaken. Another was of a nightwing, Morrowseer, the larger and broad face looked far too familiar. The artist even captured his narrow eyed glare well. The last was of a softer looking nightwing, dull scales and an almost calm look in his eyes. That one Starflight did not know.
