It didn't take too long of a flight until Riptide took them to an island outpost. Four seawing soldiers stood with spears and eyed the approaching group. As soon as they all landed, a fith, grey seawing marched out of the barracks tower and eyed the dragonets suspiciously. Starflight kept a step behind Clay, this dragon was more intimidating in front of him than in a vision. None of his foresights showed any warnings for this dragon but it didn't ease Starflights pounding heart. "Gr-Riptide?" Prince Shark growled, a disapproving frown on his face.
"Well, he's definitely Tsunami's uncle" Starflight thought to himself. Tsunami definitely inherited that frown from him. Riptide bowed and kept his gaze low as he reported.
"I found the missing Princess, look at her wings, it's the royal seawing pattern" Riptide sheepishly pointed to Tsunami's underwing.Tsunami puffed her chest and slowly unfolded her wings. Pretty swirls that Starflight was used to seeing lit up. "Oh, I noticed Webs didn't have them but I didn't think much of it until now" Starflight thought, seeing that Shark was the only other dragon to have them.
"Did she just tell us "get morning octopus"?" Shark thought with narrowed eyes. His expression unreadable but Starflight felt a small wave of confusion form on him. "Seems you have" he spoke slowly then turned to his soldiers. "Kill the others and escort her to the Summer Palace" Shark instructed and Tsunami instantly roared back.
"Absolutely not!" Tsunami stared at Shark, her eyes bearing a challenge, "my friends come with me". Shark did not look amused and Starflight gulped and backed behind Clay again when he heard his thoughts."Definitely my sisters daughter but she should learn to watch that tounge, she isn't a Princess until Queen Coral judges otherwise" he growled back at her but spoke again. "Fine" then he flashed a few scales on his side then down his tail. "But that one needs to be blindfolded, I am not leading a foe to our Palace" Shark order his soldiers and they bowed.
"Not now, I'll do that later?" Riptide thought, half mindedly letting Starflight know what he said. A soldier hesitated infront of Clay and then wrapped seaweed over his eyes.
"Come along" one spoke as they lifted into the sky.
"Feels weird not being able to see where I'm going" Clay thought and Starflight stood beside him."I bet it is" Starflight spoke softly, trying to distract himself from his nerves. But a looming vision of some kind of accident flashed infront of him. Starflight couldn't see anything clearly, he only felt his visions sensations. A heat that sunk under his scales, around his face and talons. Starflight decided to shake it off, he already had a vision to deal with and the more they flew, the clearer the stone talons seemed. They all flew north and just as their wings began to grow tired, the seawings stopped infront of an island. Prince Shark looked around them gestured down, the soldiers dived and the group had no choice but to follow. "Hold your breath" Starflight instructed Clay, guiding him down until they both dived into water. An icy chill struck Starflights scales. Tsunami was already ahead, pushing golden seaweed aside to show an entrance tunnel. Glory and Sunny were already following the soldiers and Starflight led Clay forward. Riptide then took lead.
They swam and Starflight felt his talons grow tired and his chest tight, desperate for a breath. Blinking, Starflight saw Glory thrash in some seaweed in the tunnel and Tsunami had to help her out. The rainwings scales mixes of greens and the golds from the seaweed by the entrance. "Gurblub" Starflight coughed, loosing some breath and his chest tightened and threatened to take in water. Riptide grabbed his arm and pulled him up, Starflight thrashed forward until his snout hit air and he gasped. Panting with the others. "Ah!" He sighed, enjoying the air now that he had it, "I should work on how long I can hold my breath.
"I know" Sunny complained next to him, "horrible to have to stay underwater for long"."You can remove your blindfold now" Riptide spoke and pulled the seaweed off of Clay's head.
"Ah, better" Clay blinked, "now I can know where to go".
"Come on" Riptide dived and they all took one last, deep breath. Starflight dived and followed, they swam until they needed another air break. Conveniently carved air pockets were dotted around this entrance tunnel.
"Nicely spaced, everytime I need air there's one of these" Starflight complimented.
"Queen Blister advised they be installed" Riptide explained, "she's freaky" he thought to himself. "Her and her soldiers even get a cave where it's the only place in the Summer Palace where fire is allowed".
"Smart" Starflight commented, hoping that just by hinting to Blister would let his friends catch on. At the end of the day, Starflight had orders.Taking another breath they dived, swam, went up for air. Rinse and repeat until Starflight felt his snout hit fresher air. Blinking he gasped at how lush the whole Palace was. Tall and winding, fresh greenery were neatly planted all over the cliff sides and the Palace itself. Enclosed with tall and thick vines, they allowed green tinted sunlight in but no eyes could see in or out. Hidden in the open, it was genius. "Beautiful, I know" Riptide leaped out of the water and hovered over them until they all followed. Shark was behind them and his soldiers were waiting at the top of the Palace. They all flew up and landed near a throne. One large and decorated in pearls and sapphires but also one small and decorated with delicate pearls and emeralds. Starflight didn't notice the third, larger but not the largest, throne in the back. Hidden in shadows and covered with a clean cloth. "Was a throne already prepared for me? Or was I expected for all these years? Did my Kingdom miss me even though they didn't know me before I hatched?" Tsunami thought excitedly.
Starflight turned to look at her and her bubbly smile, half smirk. He closed his eyes and saw an image of the Queen, all majestic and covered in pearls and with a narwhal horn at the end of her tail. She was a deep blue and hugging Tsunami in a tight embrace but beside them sat a bored yet curious, light white and pink tinted seawing dragonet.
"Expect company" Starflight whispered to her, after figuring out her name in the vision. "Anemone will be here to" Starflight explained the same time Shark ordered a soldier to call Queen Coral.
"An-enemy? Who?" Tsunami tilted her head in a confusion and scrunched her snout in a preexisting jealousy. Starflight cleared his throat and explained again.
"Anemone, it seems you'll have a sister" Starflight sighed when he heard her angry thoughts."WHAT!? I thought I was the only one! The scrolls never said anything about another Princess! Didn't they all die!" Tsunami growled softly on the outside.
"Well- yes that is what the scrolls says" Starflight backed up and spoke cautiously. "But you'd have a sister" he sheepishly grinned.
"And you know that how?" Prince Shark suddenly landed behind him, causing the nightwing to jump.
"Oh!-" Starflight whipped around and saw a cautious scowl glaring back at him. "I ur- I have visions you see and um, saw her" Starflight offered a friendly grin but twisted his talons together nervously.
"I. See" Shark narrowed his eyes but then marched to the edge of the platform, waiting patiently for Queen Coral."Nightwings can see the future and read minds, he's going to be a pain to manage" Shark thought then growled, "and stay out of my head!". Starflight winced and crouched behind Clay.
"I can't control who's mind I read" he said softly, not sure if Shark heard or not.
"You ok?" Clay turned to Starflight and lifted him back to his feet.
"Yeah, spooked" Starflight nodded and straightened himself. It wasn't long until they all saw a blue shape form in the lake, then a large blue dragon leap out of the water. Queen Coral shot straight for the throne platform, roaring for everyone to get out of her way. Behind her, dragged the small, white Princess with the pink tinted wings.Coral landed them immediately flung her wings over Tsunami. "Oh my baby, I knew you were out there! I knew you were trying to find your way back to me" Coral pulled back and smiled lovingly at her newfound daughter. "I never stopped searching for you" Coral promised as she gently inspected every part of Tsunami's face. Starflight felt the love, warmth and happiness coming from Tsunami. It was such a sweet moment and Starflight loved to see Tsunami so happy that everything she wanted was coming true. Each line was just like "The missing Princess" scroll. Tsunami's favourite scroll. "Ow" a soft voice suddenly perked up behind Queen Coral. "Mother, I almost broke a talon" Anemone whined, looking up at Coral as she held her left talon.
"Oh baby" Queen Coral put one wing on Tsunami and pulled to her side and then another over Anemone. "Let me see" Coral then inspected Anemone's talon with a gentle care, "you should be fine, not a scratch.Starflight frowned and walked closer to Anemone, titling his head curiously at the little Princess. Visions and visions piled up. Each one baring blood, either it's her own or others. Anemone fighting a green seawing on a beach. Anemone dragging a knife over Coral's throat. Anemone poisoning the whole seawing council. Anemone happily studying with a rainwing. Anemone sharing sister to sister time with Tsunami and another small green dragonet. But it wasn't the visions that drew Starflight in. No. It was her mind, the sensation that he would feel, to feel other dragons emotions. It was wrong. Her mind was cold and some were numb. A small part of her mind was unreachable, only a frozen sensation that froze apart of Anemone in time. Staring into the dragonets innocent eyes, Starflight saw the disease frosting the Princesses heart. Taking over her mind. "Mother?" Anemone timidly leaned into Corals side, Starflight sensed the fear she felt of a strang dragon staring at her. But all Starflight saw was the dragonets possible downfall. An unstable, faulty gene that could tip her over the edge. But a small flicker of hope that it may turn out differently.
