"It's all planned." He finally announced.
"What do you mean?" Vijaypath shot up from his chair.
"She has planned it all." Mahadevan explained, "Her going missing at the hands of the syndicate, and everything else that's about to happen."
Vijaypath clenched his jaw, visibly vexed, "Be clear!"
"I said she has planned all of this for us to trap the entire syndicate, Avaran, Jayachandran, and Vikram." Mahadevan seethed, looking him in the eye, the increasing tension between the two men blatant to all.
The commander instantly took a step forward, his eyes in slits. "What have your ex-father-in-law and his business partner got to do with all of this, Mahadevan?"
"They are both involved in this." The Dogra Patriarch replied, "They, along with the Archbishop, are the heads of the syndicate, and Hinduja was aware of this."
The commander felt the sclera of his eyes burning, the capillaries in them violently red, as if they would burst out anytime.
"3, 2, 1" He counted in reverse order, gulping while controlling his anger, clamping and unclamping his fists simultaneously. "You knew absolutely everything, yet you didn't stop her." Rage boiled over him as he whispered, "How could you?"
"I am her husband. My purpose is to be by her side regardless of the situation, not to control her." Mahadevan shot back.
"Fuck you, Dogra!" The commander hurled out fiercely, eyes wide and face crimson. "I don't care! I just want my sister back!"
Mahadevan stood quietly. Impassive as always.
Seeing the situation escalating at an extremely fast pace, Aravind Hariprasad came forward, placing his hand on Vijaypath's shoulder, "Surgeon Rao . . ." He trailed.
The said surgeon immediately turned his head around, staring straight into the DGP's eyes, slow and threatening, his wrath way above his chosen limits, "Step back." He commanded.
The DGP felt his lips part slightly, shocked.
"I. said. step. back." Vijaypath repeated, one word at a time. Brutal silence followed thereafter, with the fall of a few degrees in the atmospheric temperature.
No wonder, the surgeon was a retired naval commander.
Circumstances of his wrath on display were rare but extremely lethal.
The power dynamics in the DGP's cabin balanced itself equally on the shoulders of the two men standing head to head and eye to eye as Aravind Hariprasad took a step back.
As if getting a common signal, all three of them, Rukmini, Raghav, and Aravind, left the cabin, leaving the two men alone.
"I regret getting her married to you." Vijaypath mouthed. "I should have known. Your first marriage and the divorce it resulted in, was a proof enough."
"Don't you dare go there." The Dogra patriarch felt his worst side getting invoked.
"Oh, you better prepare yourself, Dogra." The commander chuckled darkly, "The moment I get my sister back, safe and sound, the first thing you'll receive are divorce papers."
And then it happened, in the fraction of a second, as the temperature in the cabin reached its lowest, cold and suffocating, choking even the inanimate objects around, in it's unyielding grip.
The Dogra Patriarch tilted his head towards his left shoulder acutely, a cacodemonic smile emerging on his face, dark and twisted, "Try me." He whispered, the implicit threat in his tone of voice as clear as dawn.
