Y/N's POV
The bar was alive with energy—clinking glasses, distant laughter, the bass vibrating under my skin. But all I cared about was the woman sitting across from me.Taylor.
She was tense, her shoulders squared, her fingers wrapped too tightly around her glass. Travis, on the other hand, was in high spirits, already a few drinks in, his arm casually draped around her.
Perfect.
I leaned back in my seat, stretching my arms along the booth.
Y/N: "So, Travis, tell me—what's the secret to being one of the best tight ends in the league?"
Travis grinned, taking another sip of his drink.
Travis: "Hard work, dedication, and good genes."
I chuckled, pretending to be entertained. Meanwhile, my focus remained on Taylor. Her gaze flickered toward me every few seconds, but she never held it for too long. She was avoiding me.
Coward.
The night went on, drinks flowing freely. I made sure Taylor and Travis kept up, ordering round after round, subtly pushing them past the point of rational thought.
That's when things started to shift.
Travis became more affectionate, his touches lingering, his words slurring.
Travis: "You know, babe, you don't hear it enough, but you are stunning."
He tucked a strand of hair behind Taylor's ear, his fingers grazing her jaw.
She didn't move.
Didn't lean in.
Didn't pull away.
She just—looked at me.
And that was my cue.
I stood up, fixing my shirt.
Y/N: "Taylor."
She hesitated, just for a moment. Then, as if under a spell, she followed.
Bathroom – Y/N's POV
The door clicked shut behind us.Taylor stood frozen against the sink, hands gripping the counter. Her pupils were blown, her breath uneven.
She was nervous.
Good.
I stepped forward, my body barely an inch from hers.
Y/N: "It's now or never."
Her lips parted slightly, her breath shaky.
Taylor: "What are you talking about?"
Y/N: "No more games."
I caged her in, palms flat against the counter beside her.
Y/N: "No more pretending."
Her chest rose and fell rapidly, her body betraying her.
Y/N: "You either want me, or you don't."
Taylor swallowed hard. I could feel the heat radiating off her skin, the battle happening in her mind.
I leaned in, my lips hovering just over hers.
Y/N: "So tell me, Taylor..."
I traced my fingers along her jaw, my voice barely above a whisper.
Y/N: "Are you mine?"
Her breath hitched.
Y/N: "Or am I walking out of this door forever?"
Taylor's POV
I was drowning.Drowning in her touch, in her words, in the way she looked at me like I was hers to claim.
And the worst part?
I wanted to be.
My mind screamed at me to step back, to walk away, to stop whatever was happening before it was too late.
But my body—
My body refused to listen.
Taylor: "This isn't fair."
She smirked, tilting her head.
Y/N: "What's not fair?"
Her fingers trailed up my arm, setting fire to my skin.
Taylor: "You."
Her smirk deepened. She leaned in, her lips brushing against my cheek, then lower, just under my jaw.
Y/N: "Then stop me."
I didn't.
I couldn't.
I was falling, and I didn't want to be caught.
She tilted my chin up, forcing me to look at her.
Y/N: "Say it."
I knew what she wanted.
She wanted me to choose.
Right here. Right now.
And for the first time, I wasn't sure if I could.
Y/N: "Now or never, Taylor."
I opened my mouth to speak—
Then, suddenly—
A knock at the door.
A deep, familiar voice.
Travis: "Babe? You in there?"
Everything inside me shattered.
Y/N didn't move.
She didn't flinch.
She just stared at me, waiting.
Then, slowly, she took a step back.
Her expression was unreadable, but her eyes—
Her eyes were screaming.
Y/N: "If you open that door for him..."
She reached up, brushing her fingers along my collarbone, her touch featherlight but electrifying.
Y/N: "Then you're choosing him."
My stomach twisted.
Y/N: "And if that's the case—"
She leaned in, her lips grazing my ear.
Y/N: "Don't ever look at me like that again."
She crossed her arms and waited.
I could still hear Travis on the other side, waiting for me.
And I had no idea if I was strong enough to walk away.
