33. Getting Along-ish

Start from the beginning

"Hi?"

"We have to get along. Once again." I rolled my eyes.

"Your dad?" Gunnar asked.

"Yeah. Anyways, what should we do now?" I asked.

"We could finish mucking the stalls." Gunnar offered.

"No." I said sternly. Gunnar laughed slightly.

"Hmm." Gunnar tapped his chin in thought. "We could go on a hike." He offered.

"Sounds fun." I nodded.

"Lead the way." Gunnar said.

"Okay, well, I know the best places to hike." I grinned, starting to walk.

Saph and Chip started to follow. "Oh. Are theu gonna come?" Gunnar frowned.

"Um,they don't have to." I shrugged.

"Yeah, let's do that." He nodded.

"Um, okay, you two just stay here." I smiled solemly.

Gunnar and I started hiking. "What should we talk about?" The man asked.

"Um, well, what do you think of Berk?" I asked.

"It's nice. Everyone here is kind. Except maybe your phsyco healer." Gunnar said.

"Goathi is not phsyco." I frowned. "She's actually a great friend of mine. She's also our elder. Respect her."

"Fine."

We walked for about an hour, chatting as we went.

"You know, the dragons freak me out." Gunnar said randomly.

"You just have to get used to them." I shrugged, making a face.

"Get used to them?" Gunnar scoffed. "They're killers. That's what Thor made them to be."

"Killers? They're only killers if you give them a reason to." I countered.

"You're insane if you think your dragons actually like you. They just stay because you force them to." Gunnar crossed his arms.

I put my hair up, "Round two, jerk."

"You're on." Gunnar put his fists up. He swung first, but I ducked.

I punched him in the jaw, his head snapping to the side. "You-" Gunnar cut himself off, grabbing my hair. He pulled me to the ground. He punched my stomach, shooting pain through me.

I then punched his jaw, causing him to let go of my hair. I took the opportunity to stand up. Adrenalin rushed through me as I kicked Gunnar's head.

He took a moment to take a breathe before he stood back up. He looked mad. Very mad. He grabbed my neck with both hands, lifting me up into the air.

I gasped, trying to breath. My eyes started to blur, but I could slightly see Gunnar's sickening grin. Time started to slow, but I refused to let Gunnar win.

I kicked him where the sun doesn't shine. In pain, he dropped me to the ground. I tried to catch my breath as  Gunnar groaned in pain.

Before I could get to my feet, Gunnar grabbed a rock. It was about the size of a potato and had very sharp edges.

Gunnar threw it at me. The rock hit my forehead. My head snapped back. Then I felt sticky blood trickle down my face.

I was starting to get very dizzy. I stood, not willing to give up. He stood up soon after. I punched him in the nose. I heard a sickening crack, most likely meaning I had broken it.
