Dandy's World x Reader (Can't say I didn't try)

"I still don't know what you're saying."

"Sgghghhhsh..."

Twisted Sprout doesn't really change much from his former self, in a sense. Still protective, but maybe a bit more... protective. It's hard to find the right words for it but you can basically describe him as someone who won't attack unprovoked but should someone so much as look at you in a way he doesn't like, a tendril is suddenly holding them up by their legs with you being the one who has to call him off. 

As mentioned previously he won't touch you with his Ichor infested hand, but that may not stop your curiosity. Maybe it prying too much on how his hand got so bad like that or maybe your trying to touch it too many times, but eventually he'll just yank his hand away while giving you a firm look that effectively says 'stop looking into it'. 

He flinches when you mention Dandy. "Oh, yeah! Dandy sold this valve for half the price! Isn't that...?" You'll see Sprout looking uncomfortably to his side, not really saying or doing anything, but you know something is up purely by his body language. You can't tell if he's mad at Dandy or Scared of him. Maybe both, not that it matters because you might still comfort him all the same, dropping the topic entirely.

You swear you've never seen him move as fast as he did when you were about to touch a puddle of Ichor. Immediately lifting you up to make sure you can't touch that blasted substance. You might be confused, but he won't elaborate; it might spark your curiosity too much. Not that he could elaborate anyway, with his whole speech problem and fun stuff like that. 

 He's not thrilled of the idea of you coming back. As much as you bring him down to earth, he hates the idea of you putting yourself in danger just to complete machines that you likely have no idea what they do. Or, most likely; just to see him again. Try as he may, he likely won't manage to get you to stop putting yourself in danger. Whether that be from you not willing to leave him behind or you just wanting to complete your objective, he's still there making sure you're safe. 

Sprout is a bit clumsy with his size, but that mostly comes from his arm. When he follows you when you're doing machines, accidentally knocking over a shelf or bookcase with his arm (more often than not it doesn't hit you) Or because he's half blind and ends up accidentally hitting a wall or something along those lines. It doesn't hurt him -mostly- but it does make for a good punchline in some kind of joke. 

He can, and does get stressed. Remember me saying you can bring him back down to earth? This is one of the moments where you do that by either gently tugging on his arm; assuming you can reach it.  OR by you just calling out his name, grabbing his attention. It's mostly you and Cosmo that can manage to do that; Sprout just feels calm with you or Cosmo (or both) around. 

Other Toons often question why your around a Twisted -Sprout- all the time, and you're response is always just the same: "I like being around him." "I can't just leave him behind..." You never bring it up to Sprout, because he likely already knows. He can't blame them, but he appreciates the fact that you won't leave him behind. It brings him another kind of calm that he didn't even know existed. 

"I won't leave you behind, I promise."

"..."

He can't say it, but he promises the same thing.
