YN
The second I closed my door, my body gave out. No overthinking. No crying. Just the weight of everything finally sinking deep into my bones.
The sleep was short, but heavy—only a few hours before the buzzing on my nightstand cut through the quiet.
I groaned, turning over and grabbing my phone, blinking at the screen.
Ten missed calls.
Jeonghan.
I frowned, my thumb already hitting redial. The moment he answered, I could hear the smirk in his voice.
"Took you long enough."
"You're insane," I mumbled. "Why are you calling me like the world's ending?"
"It kind of is, isn't it?" he said, voice smooth, a little lighter than the topic deserved. "At least your world."
I didn't respond.
His tone softened. "Seungcheol told me."
My stomach tensed. Of course he did.
Jeonghan didn't ask how I was. Didn't offer condolences. Just left the words hanging, gentle and non-pushy.
I like that about him.
But of course, Jeonghan couldn't help himself.
"So..." he dragged out. "Is this break up because...?"
I closed my eyes. "Don't start."
He laughed. "I'm just asking."
"Bye, Jeonghan."
"Oh come on, I'm—"
Click.
I tossed my phone to the side with a sigh and immediately picked it back up, dialing Sujin.
"Hey," she said gently.
I didn't say anything at first. Just sat there, staring at the wall.
"I take it... he's gone?"
I swallowed. "Yeah. He packed up after we talked last night."
Jiwon's voice came in from her end of the line, hushed but worried. "What did he say?"
I exhaled slowly. "Not much. I think he expected me to be angry. Or sad. But I wasn't."
They didn't say anything, but I could feel it—whatever weight they were both carrying for me.
"He told me about her," I continued. "I think he wanted me to fight. Or beg. Or scream."
"Did you?" Sujin asked softly.
"No," I said. "I just... said I was happy she made him feel something. Because I couldn't."
A beat of silence. Then Jiwon sighed. "God, yn..."
"I'm okay," I cut in quickly. "Really. Or maybe I'm not. But I'm just... tired. That's the part that scares me."
"You've been holding on for too long," Sujin said. "It makes sense."
"I think I let go a while ago," I murmured. "I just didn't say it out loud until he did."
They didn't try to fix it. Didn't offer clichés or comfort I didn't want.
Then, carefully, Jiwon asked, "Do you wanna go out tonight?"
I blinked. "Out?"
"Yeah. Somewhere loud. Somewhere with drinks and bad decisions. Somewhere you don't have to think."
