"No"

"Please—"

"Li, I said no." The chimera's voice showed he was annoyed and slightly amused. Liam gasped in fake disbelief, a hand on his chest as he looked at the chimera.

"Come on, Theo. Just one more, please?" The chimera glanced between the boy and the road, rolling his eyes at the pout in the betas lips. Yes, Liam was pouting. He shook his head and groaned, glancing towards the boy again.

"If you play another Katy Perry song I'll punch you, I swear I will." Liam couldn't help but laugh at the annoyed expression in the chimera's face, but he didn't push. He knew very well that Theo would stay true to his word and would punch him if he played another Katy Perry song.

"Fine, fine, sorry. No need to get growly." The beta laughed as Theo gave him the middle finger. Since their conversation last night it felt like they got closer and Liam liked it. He liked how easy it felt to laugh and joke around with Theo, or how easy the conversation flowed. It was different... different from how it was with someone like Mason, as easy strong as his connection with his best friend was, there were things he didn't want him to see, that Theo had seen. It was certainly different from his connection with Hayden, where the girl was rough and impulsive, Theo was calm and logic based.

"Okay, explain again to me. Please?" The chimera's voice pulled the beta from his thoughts and he nodded, shifting in the passenger seat to sit looking at the older boy's profile.

"Mason will get Nolan's attention and will get him to follow him to the zoo where we will be waiting. We need to be seen by him, that way he can call for reinforcement"

Theo nodded, his hand gripping the steering wheel while his eyes darted to the revision mirror. "And how long is this supposed to take? Are we distracting them? Luring them inside? Tell me."

Liam chewed his bottom lip, "we're giving Scott and the others enough time to break into Gerard's armoury. They're trying to figure out his plans... or at least something. We just have to buy them enough time."

"Great." Theo sighed, not liking the sound of both of them being used as bait. Especially Liam, "you can stay in the car, I can cause enough chaos so that—"

"No."

Theo turned back to the beta who wore a stern and annoyed expression upon his face. He knew Liam wouldn't go down without a fight, for a moment he contemplated the idea of knocking him unconscious but he knew eventually he would wake up and could potentially put himself in more danger.

"You're not doing this alone," Liam's voice was soft, "Scott asked me to carry out the plan and I chose you to help me."

"You didn't have any other options."

"I could have asked Corey," Liam retorted. "My point is, I wanted your help because we work really well as a team, together. But that only works if we actually work together."

Theo sighed, his head leaning against the window. "Don't do anything stupid then, got it?"

Liam fake scoffed, "me? Do something stupid? Yeah okay Raeken, calm down."

Theo snickered, he wondered why the abandoned zoo had become the choice location though but he decided it was best not to ask, not yet at least.

Suddenly, Liam's phone rang. The beta looked down to see Mason's name across it, he answered it immediately.
