"Mum..."

Everyone froze, looking at the blood covering Melissa's abdomen. Everyone except Theo. The chimera moved quickly, pushing Argent out of the way to get to Melissa. The hunter acting on instinct drew his gun out of his waist, pointing it at Theo, receiving a growl from Liam.

"Argent, no! Look!" Lydia pointed at the chimera's hands. One of them putting pressure on the woman's injury and the other wrapped around her forearm, black veins creeping up his arm as he took the nurse's pain. The man immediately dropped the gun, shocked by the chimera's action, he would have thought that it was going to be Scott who was first one to move into action. He was wrong, Scott was frozen.

After that everyone rushed their pace. They ran outside towards Argent's SUV, being Theo who was the one with a bloody Melissa McCall in his arms. The chimera got in the back seat with Liam's help, refusing to stop putting pressure on the nurse's injury.

Lydia got in the passenger seat, looking back at Theo every couple of minutes. She was pretty much shocked but she knew that something was happening. She knew that something was happening with Theo, she could feel it, like statics running through her body and making the hairs on the back of her hair stand up.

"Theo, let me do it, you are taking too much." Liam's voice pulled the banshee out of her thoughts, as she looked back she saw how the coywolf's arm was still showing the black veins as he kept taking the human's pain. The chimera had a conflicted expression on his face as he looked up at the beta.

"Theo, let Liam do it. You're gonna exhaust yourself." Theo was ready to protest, he didn't want Liam to feel it, because yes, it hurt like a bitch. But he didn't get the chance to as Melissa pulled her arm away, giving it to Liam. The beta immediately took it and absorbed her pain.

"Melissa—"

"They need you at your strongest, not exhausted and in pain" Melissa's words cut him up dry. He knew she was right and so he just nodded and kept applying pressure to her wounds.

Liam took her pain the rest of the way to the hospital, but as soon as they arrived, Theo took her in his arms again, getting her inside the hospital. Melissa was immediately spotted by a nurse, this one calling a triage team and rushing the human to assess her injuries immediately.

They waited for quite some time, only being approached once by Liam's dad, the man letting them know that the woman needed surgery.  They were all tired and worried. The alpha was in a vacant state, waiting for an update. Malia was at his side, a constant sneer on her face as she blocked Scott from anyone's sight. Argent was nowhere to be seen, most likely talking to the sheriff about what had happened.

Lydia took the opportunity.

She looked at Liam— lately always by Theo's side and she looked at the chimera, his clothes bloody where he had most likely wiped his hands from Melissa's blood. She tilted her head, focusing on the chimera, the static feeling she felt before still present, just less strong.

"Who was she? The girl back in Scott's house... Who was she, Theo?"

The chimera bowed his head, he knew there would be no point in trying to lie, especially to Lydia. She could practically smell a lie from a mile away, it wouldn't be worth even trying. "It was Tara."

"Your sister Tara?" Theo nodded in response, seeing Liam in the corner of his eye beginning to approach them. "Can we talk about this later?" Before Lydia could even respond he was making his way over to Liam, sensing the beta's discomfort. "Hey, you good?"
