"He's right behind me— like right behind me. He has no idea how to be sneaky, he's in a bright red car." Mason chuckled as he spoke, in pure disbelief of Nolan's negligence and stupidity, "we won't be long, coming down the road now."

"Okay, be safe." Liam said before hanging up and keeping his eye out on the road, only when he saw Lydia's signature blue car did they get out of Theo's truck. With it being a little high Liam used the handrail to jump down, "Is he?"

"He's right behind me don't look," Mason replied, opening his boot so Theo could grab the remaining supplies Mason managed to pinch, "should I go with you guys?"

Liam turned to Theo, as if to ask for his opinion. "These guys are trained to kill. Go home."

Mason was obviously displeased by the chimera's response but Liam was quick to reassure him. "Just go home, Nolan's going to do the rest. We'll be fine."

"Fine, fine but I totally could—"

"Mason, go home. You can't heal like us, if you get shot everything will go to shit. Go home." The human sighted, not liking it one bit to leave his friends to be ambushed by some crazy hunters but Theo was right, he can't heal like them. Meanwhile the beta looked at the interaction proudly, before hell Theo would have used anyone if it meant he would get out of the situation unscratched. But now, he was sending their human friend— Liam's best friend, home so he wouldn't be hurt. It was the little things that made Liam realize just how much the chimera was changing.

It didn't take too long for Nolan to rat them out after Mason left. Both supernaturals looking down at the nervous teen from one of the enclosures. The human was acting jumpier than normal and they could feel the guilt on his scent from where they stood.

"Why would he still be with Monroe? Especially after Brett." Liam was confused, he didn't understand why Nolan would choose to stay with Monroe and her hunters, especially after what happened. "He was there. He saw the state Brett was in when we found him, he saw how they killed him without regret, he heard Lori's growl and cries, he heard mine..."

The beta shook his head, he felt angry and disappointed towards the human. How could he see what they did and still chose to support them.

"Liam, we don't know what's on his mind. Remember what we found in his room, we don't know what Monroe is promising him" Theo's words hit the beta more than we would have liked, knowing the chimera went for something similar. Nolan's home situation could easily be the reason why he is seeking others approval, others protection.

"Fine, maybe you're right. Maybe he's—" The sound of another car approaching cut through the beta's words. As they leaned to look down they saw two hunters getting out of a SUV, walking armed towards a nervous looking Nolan.

Theo pressed himself and Liam closer against the bricks, hoping to not be seen by any of the hunters. Yes, they needed them to know they were here but they didn't need to know their exact location.

"They're here— I saw Theo and Liam bringing sleeping bags and supplies into the zoo, they're all here!"

Nolan's rambles ended in his voice cracking, it was clear that the boy was desperate. For what exactly, they were still unsure. Liam guessed it was to prove himself, to show the hunters— more importantly Monroe, that he was worth something. Especially if Nolan's home life was as bad as they were suspecting, he probably didn't have a lot of encouragement at home.

"This isn't going to work," Liam sighed, feeling defeated. He had really thought his plan was golden, but hearing the other hunters doubting Nolan's story was proving to make this a lot more difficult.

"Where's the backup? Shouldn't there be like twenty of them?" Theo asked, smacking Liam's arm to get his attention.

"Well they're not gonna believe Nolan," Liam replied, annoyance lacing his words as he turned back to overlook the hunters. Barely hearing Theo's next words, he frowned.
