Abeer waved him off. “Rudra, hum yaha kaam karte reh gaye or dekh, Shaurya ne humse bina puche shaadi kar li!” he said jokingly.
Mehul’s face turned bright red, completely taken aback by Abeer’s loud comment.
He shifted uncomfortably, looking at Shaurya for help.
Shaurya, ever the calm one, raised an eyebrow. “Abeer... calm down. Yeh Mehul hai. Aur ha humne shaadi kari hai.”
Abeer’s eyes nearly popped out. “Shaadi? Tune sach me shaadi kar li? Yeh joke hai, haina?” Abeer laughed loudly, his voice echoing in the cabin.
“Arre yaar, tune shaadi kar di toh me bhi Vicky Kaushal…hahaha. Chal yeh joke band kar bata yeh kon hai?”
“Abeer!” Shaurya warned, a small grin on his face but clearly not amused by Abeer’s antics.
Abeer’s eye nearly popped out and he almost fainted hearing Shaurya’s serious tone.
“YEH SACH HAI!! WHAT ABOUT MERI ITNI MEHNAT WALA BACHELOR PARTY KA PROGRAMME AUR WOH PRE WEDDING PARTY!!!”
Mehul, still red in the face, looked at Shaurya, unsure whether to speak up or stay silent.
“Yeh mere dost hain,” Shaurya said, shifting the focus back to Mehul completely ignoring Abeer's drama. “Yeh Rudra aur woh Nautanki Abeer..”
Abeer clapped his hands, “Wah ignore mujhe ignore maar raha hai ab tu, sab chhod aur bata yeh hua kese? Kab? Kaha? Kyon? Everything. I want every detail.”
Rudra leaned in silently, his eyes softer than before. He wasn’t saying much, but there was curiosity in his gaze.
“Shaurya,” Abeer said, raising his voice, “Explain. Now. Mujhe story chahiye poori!”
Shaurya sighed. “Ek chota sa gaon tha. Car puncture. Thakur se zindagi bachaai. Parivaar wale gatiya log. Shaadi ki. Done.”
“WHAT?!” Abeer screamed, jumping up. “Tumne filmon se inspire hoke shaadi kar li?”
“Abeer,” Rudra muttered, giving Abeer a look. “Control.”
But Abeer wasn’t finished. “Rudra, yaar, relax! Dekho, Shaurya ki shaadi ki news hai—aur tum dono itne serious kyun ho? It’s a huge deal!”
Mehul couldn’t help but smile at Abeer’s antics, though he still felt out of place.
“Vese konse gaav ke ho tum…Mehul?” Abeer asked curiously.
“Ji woh ‘Fulwa’...” Mehul replied timidly.
(A/N: Ijust made up the name🙄)
Shaurya gave Abeer a look, but it was clear there was no ill-will. Abeer was a little over the top, but his heart was in the right place.
“Yeh wahi hai na jiske pass ke areas me jabariya shaadi karwai jaati hai?” Abeer spoke, making Mehul widen his eyes.
“Aapko kaise pata?” Mehul nodded, still unsure how to handle everything.
“Hum…humne Shaurya ji ko nhi fasaya hum sach keh rahe hai woh yeh sab apne aap ho gya…” Mehul said almost crying, thinking maybe they are doubting him of cheating them and this forced marriage.
“It's okay…don't be sad. It was me who married you and I know you will never do something like that so don't worry I trust you.” Shaurya replied.
Abeer gave a dramatic sigh, but at least he stopped teasing. “Fine. But I must say Shaurya’s taste in people even in accidents is so much more interesting now.”
Shaurya looked at the two of them. “Enough of this. For now both of you can leave and can stop by at home tomorrow for dinner.”
As Shaurya moved to his desk, Mehul hesitantly followed, still a little overwhelmed.
But Abeer, Rudra, and even the whole office environment felt different from the life he had known. The world around him was new, but Shaurya was there—grounding him, even in the madness.
“Koi nai biwi aai toh doston ko bhul gaya yeh gaddari yaad rahegi mere priye mitra—” Abeer kept blabbering while Rudra dragged him out of office with him.
“Shaurya ji, aapke dost sayad bura maan gaye…” Mehul said anxiously, hearing Abeer's blabber.
“Unki baat par dhyan mat do, Abeer hamesha sa hi esa hai bas majak kar raha hai…” Shaurya explained to not worry Mehul.
“Pakka!” Mehul asked.
“Ekdum pakka, yeh sab chodo aur batao bhook lagi hogi na?”
“Lekin hum ghar se khana toh leke aaye hi nahi.” Mehul asked, confused.
“Mein order kar deta hu! Kya khaoge?” Shaurya asked with a soft smile seeing his confused look.
“Aap kuch bhi mangawa dijiye mujhe jyada nahi pata yeh order ke baare mein.”
“Achha toh Sandwich aur milkshake order kar deta hun tumhare liye.”
“Jee. Par aap?”
“Kyon tum mere saath share nahi kar sakte ha?” Shaurya asked, teasing.
“N..nahi… woh mera woh matlab nahi tha…” Mehul spoke urgently.
“Hahaha… majak kar raha hu mai tum khalo meri thodi der baad ek meeting hai toh Mai Ghar par jaake hi kha lunga okay.”
“Toh phir Mai bhi abhi nahi kha raha Mai bhi aapke saath Ghar par hi khaunga.”
“Mehul, ab toh mene order bhi kar diya agar tum nahi khaoge toh khane ka apman hoga soch kitni buri baat hai hmmm..” Shaurya said manipulating the innocent boy.
“Jee main kha lunga khane ka apman nahi hone dunga…” Mehul spoke with a cute pout.
“Don't worry, we will have our dinner together at home.”
“Jee.”
Mehul nodded his head blushing, hearing the words 'home' and 'together' felt so good that his heart beating faster.
He stole glances of Shaurya who was focused on work in his laptop and files.
